TheFood Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Team Leader is responsiblefor managing and supervising the FSQA team in the metro foodproduction facility.
Responsibilities:
Lead the daily operations ofthe FSQA team, including assigning tasks, providing guidance andtraining, ensuring all FSQA standards are met and safety protocolsare followed. Establish a culture that prioritizes food safety andquality at the facility. Design, implement, and manage qualityassurance programs and procedures to ensure product quality andconsistency. Develop and enforce quality standards andspecifications for raw materials, in-process materials, andfinished products. Oversee environmental monitoring program andother swabbing programs as required to conform to GoodManufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical ControlPoints (HACCP), and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)guidelines. Monitor all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures(SSOPs) and update them frequently as dictated by business needs orthe USDA, including cross training Team Members on SSOPs. Act asthe primary liaison for all internal and external food safety andquality issues (customer complaints, USDA, Food & Drug Association(FDA). Uphold all Whole Foods Market, USDA, and FDA programstandards and work closely with USDA inspector. Oversee PestControl Program and work with third party provider to remedypest-related issues. Follow, comply with, and enforce establishedprocedures, including health and sanitation guidelines andadherence to safe work practices. Maintain accurate and up-to-datedocumentation and records of all quality assurance and food safetyactivities with daily audits to verify compliance. Handle foodsafety crises, including product recalls, contamination incidents,and other emergencies. Interview, select, train, develop, counsel,and manage performance for Team Members in a way that builds andsustains a high-performing and engaged team. Collaborate with TeamMember Services on Team Member relations including properdocumentation, investigations, corrective actions, and resolve teamconcerns and/or issues. In collaboration with subject matterexperts, maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliancewith, relevant regulatory rules and standards, includingOccupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), USDA, StateDepartment of Agriculture, HACCP, FSMA, Americans with DisabilitiesAct (ADA), Department of Labor, Health and Sanitation regulations,Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Weights and Measures. Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in food science,microbiology, animal sciences, or a related field preferred ORequivalent combination of education and FSQA experience within afood manufacturing facility. 2 years of FSQA facility experiencewithin a food production environment and 12 months of supervisoryFSQA experience in the food manufacturing industry. PCQI and HACCPcertified preferred. Proven track record of success in an FSQAleadership role in the food manufacturing industry. Ability todevelop, implement, and manage food safety and quality assuranceprograms. Experience in conducting internal and external audits andinspections to ensure compliance with food safety and qualitystandards. Proficiency in analyzing data from quality tests,audits, and inspections to identify trends, non-conformities, andareas for improvement. Intermediate computer skills; proficiency inselect Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); andability to learn custom applications. Basic understanding ofEnterprise Resource Planning (ERP) processes within a foodmanufacturing environment. Ability to work well with others,self-motivated, and capable of working independently with littlesupervision. Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needsof the facility, including nights, weekends and holidays asrequired. Ability to build strong partnerships with keystakeholders including Team Members, customers suppliers, andregulators. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must adhere tocompany dress code, standards of production kitchen dress, andpersonal protective equipment (PPE). Must be able to perform theessential functions of the job, with reasonable accommodation.

bending, twisting, squatting, andreaching. Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
