RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the Shop Manager include, but not limited to:

• Oversee maintenance and repair of all fleet equipment and vehicles.
• Supervise, update, and track the status and completion of all maintenance, repair work orders, parts usage, and reordering to maintain records and accountability for all work performed.
• Obtain quotes of materials, parts, repairs, rental equipment and provide them to the General Superintendent for review and approval.
• Place orders for supplies to the mechanic shop via purchase orders.
• Maintain inventory and location of equipment, trucks, and small tools.
• Be able to assist the mechanics with equipment repairs.
• Make sure service mechanics are fulfilling equipment manufacture recommendations.
• Driving to the job site to provide parts for heavy equipment, when necessary.
• Enforce all company policies and procedures related to shop employee’s conduct.
• Clean and maintain shop areas and ensure the proper care and storage of all tools. SKILLS
• Leadership and organization skills are critical for this position.
• Preferably bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Good communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of prior experience as shop manager.
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Bending:

Bending, stretching, and twisting are required during inspection of the equipment.

Crawling/Kneeling :

Occasionally crawling to check equipment/machinery for safe day-to-day operation and for general maintenance needs.

Climbing:

Ladder climbing is performed to enter/exit the equipment or machinery.

Lifting/Carrying:

Parts of heavy equipment/machinery, move heavy objects with minimum of 30-75 pounds.

Sensory Demands:

Suitable hearing, near and far sighted vision, and great spatial perception.

Pushing/Pulling:

Parts of the equipment during the inspection and/or maintenance.
