The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shop, ensuring efficient production and management. This role involves coordinating with technicians, managing payroll, maintaining quality control, and fostering a high level of customer satisfaction.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Daily Operations Management:
Oversee daily shop operations including production and board meetings. Ensure that work is accurately dispatched and allocated to technicians.
Financial Oversight:
Conduct weekly flags and semi-monthly payroll processing. Review and write job estimates, manage jobs, and handle warranties and VIP accounts. Close job files, ensuring profitability and accuracy of repair orders.
Shop Maintenance:
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and lot. Ensure all repairs, facilities, and equipment meet established quality standards.
Quality Control:
Implement quality control protocols to ensure all work meets company standards. Conduct customer follow-ups and review surveys/online feedback to uphold high satisfaction levels. If the advisor is not available to do a final walk around of the vehicle with the customer, the manager should do so.
Employee Management:
Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with employees to discuss performance and address any issues. Collaborate with the District Manager (DM) on recruiting, hiring, and conducting employee reviews.
Growth and Development:
Work with the DM to maximize shop capacity through effective marketing, scheduling, and cultivating work sources, including insurance Direct Repair Program (DRP) performance. Drive initiatives to grow the shop and enhance operational efficiency.
Expectations:
Maintain a high standard of operational excellence and accountability among team members. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment. Commit to continuous improvement in processes and customer satisfaction.
Management Experience:
Must have at least 5 years experience in any management or supervisory position. Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
Sales Experience:
Must have at least 1 year experience in any sales role or demonstrate an ability to sell.
Organizational & Focus Skills:
Must be able to work and complete work tasks in a timely fashion in an environment that has constant distractions and interruptions.
Computer Knowledge & Ability:
Must possess a working knowledge of how to use a Windows computer. This includes the ability to type or dictate at least 30 words per minute, operate a cursor, view a computer monitor, operate an email account, and use common office software such as word processing and spreadsheet programs.
Communication Skills:
Must be able to communicate in English fluently, both in verbal and in written form.
Math Skills:
Must possess ability to count. Must know how to perform basic math functions using a calculator.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to get into and out of various vehicles without assistance. Must be able to drive a motor vehicle with passengers.
