SUMMARY:

Ahoy, future Assistant Store Manager (ASM)! Ready to navigate the high seas of retail? As our ASM, you’ll be the ship’s captain, guiding the store to smooth sailing every day! Lead by example, assist customers in making the perfect purchase, build lasting connections, and keep the store buzzing with positive vibes. You’ll partner with the Store Manager to keep everything running like a well-oiled machine and make sure our store is always a haven of safety and customer delight. When the Store Manager is off-duty, you’re the top deck leader, steering the store in their absence. This role requires initiative, stellar communication, and a knack for organization, all while maintaining a fun and professional demeanor that shows off the Company’s awesomeness.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Team up with the Store Manager (SM) to supercharge the daily store operations, all while sticking to company guidelines and keeping the energy high. Take the helm and run the store like a rock star when the SM is away. Dive into reports and paperwork, and help lead the team with daily supervision. Show up as scheduled, dressed to impress in the snazziest uniform, as per the Company Dress Code Policy. Keep your cool and stay upbeat and professional at all times. Roll out the red carpet for customers, greeting them with a smile, offering top-notch service, and tackling any complaints with flair. Use your product and promotions know-how to guide customers to their perfect picks. Create magical customer connections by remembering their favorites and personalizing their shopping experience. Become a master of all transactional gear (cash registers, electronic safes, lottery systems, fuel pumps, etc.) and train your team to do the same. Stick to the Company’s Loss Prevention Policy like glue, ensuring cash handling and security measures are spot on. Safeguard against drive-offs, theft, and counterfeit bills with the vigilance of a superhero. Operate, clean, and maintain all food service equipment (coffee machines, fountain drinks, hot dog grills, etc.) with precision and care. Show the team how it’s done. Keep the store pristine, inside and out! From restrooms to floors, counters to the parking lot, ensure everything is spotless. Train the crew on cleanliness and organization. Stock and organize the walk-in cooler and freezer, keeping shelves fresh with promotions and price updates. Tackle inventory tasks with gusto—follow vendor check-in processes and make sure product pricing and codes are on point. Complete all required training and attend job-related meetings with enthusiasm. Perform daily lotto shield scans and audits with a keen eye. Report any shady dealings from customers, vendors, or employees to management pronto. Lock up and set alarms during closing to keep the store safe and sound. Make sure all staff follow local, state, and federal laws and regulations like pros. Verify that customers purchasing age-restricted products meet the legal criteria (think alcohol and tobacco). Be the go-to source for store personnel with questions about company Policies and Procedures. Document incidents on company-approved forms with accuracy. Keep the Store Manager in the loop about any issues that could affect customer service, safety, profitability, or policy adherence. Keep all company and store info under wraps and confidential. Enforce all policies from the Company Employee Handbook with a firm but friendly approach. Carry out your regular duties with minimal supervision and dive into additional tasks as needed.
