Tampa, FL Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our equipment maintenance facility. This role is key to supporting our field operations by ensuring our fleet and tools are safe, maintained, and ready for deployment.
Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team of six mechanics; manage daily workflow and priorities
Oversee maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, vehicles, and tools
Maintain accurate service records and ensure equipment safety standards
Manage shop inventory, parts ordering, and vendor relationships
Coordinate closely with field teams to align equipment needs and dispatch
Support safety compliance, administrative documentation, and budget tracking
Qualifications:
Proven experience in shop or equipment management
Strong knowledge of heavy equipment, diagnostics, and repair procedures
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Experience with inventory systems and vendor coordination
Working knowledge of OSHA and safety compliance
Preferred:
Degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Familiarity with equipment such as Loaders, saws, small and large engines, and tools.
Experience with budget oversight and scheduling priorities of maintenance with equipment.
