Job Description

Senior Development Manager –

Retail Development Location:

Miami, FL (In-office / on-site role, NOT hybrid / remote)

Salary:

$180k – $220k base, plus bonus and benefits

Overview:

Our client, a prominent real estate developer with a strong focus on urban retail environments, is seeking an experienced Senior Development Manager to lead the execution of over 750k square feet of ground-up retail development. This is a long-term, high-impact role centered exclusively on purpose-built retail spaces, with a current pipeline of getting underway.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee full lifecycle development of ground-up retail projects, from pre-development through delivery Manage entitlements, zoning, and permitting processes with local municipalities and agencies Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and proformas Collaborate with design, engineering, and construction teams to ensure feasibility and timely execution Coordinate leasing strategy with internal and external leasing teams Ensure alignment with market trends across food & beverage, entertainment, dry goods, and urban grocery sectors Serve as key liaison with city officials, consultants, and other stakeholders Monitor construction progress and resolve development-related challenges proactively

Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in ground-up retail development, including purpose-built urban retail Successfully managed at least 1-2 full cycles of large-scale retail development projects Deep understanding of entitlements, permitting, engineering, construction, and leasing Strong financial acumen including experience with development proformas Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Spanish language skills a plus, but not required
