Position Summary:

The Shop Manager / Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire production process, managing department leads, ensuring jobs are completed on schedule, and maintaining our quality standards. This role is critical in driving operational efficiency and ensuring customer satisfaction through on-time delivery and superior craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

Day-to-Day Operations:

Manage and oversee daily activities across all production departments. Coordinate job schedules to ensure timely delivery of all projects. Monitor workflow and proactively address bottlenecks or delays.

Production Management:

Supervise and support department leads and shop staff. Ensure proper job assignment, staffing, and resource allocation. Implement and maintain production schedules and priorities.

Quality Control:

Establish and enforce quality standards for all jobs. Inspect and approve finished products before delivery or installation. Troubleshoot quality issues and drive corrective actions.

Team Leadership:

Build and maintain a high-performing team culture. Provide training, feedback, and performance evaluations for staff. Promote a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

Reporting and Communication:

Communicate regularly with project managers and sales teams regarding job status and challenges. Track job progress and report updates to senior management. Maintain accurate production records and logs.

Requirements:

5-10 years of experience in the sign industry , preferably with direct shop management or production management experience. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (required). Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and production workflows. Strong knowledge of sign production processes, materials, and equipment. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality. Knowledge of safety standards and shop regulations. Proficiency with production management software (a plus).
