ABOUT THE SALES MANAGER POSITION
We are seeking a driven, dynamic Sales Manager to lead and inspire our sales team of 10-15 associates. This is a hands-on leadership role: not only will you manage the team, but you’ll also work alongside them on the sales floor, ensuring our guests receive excellent service and helping to meet store goals. You’ll thrive in our fast-paced, creative environment, finding innovative ways to drive sales and share our love of unique, quality products with everyone who walks through our door.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets Actively participate in sales, building strong relationships with customers and setting an example for the team in service, product knowledge, and professionalism Create staff schedules, ensuring optimal coverage and managing shift changes for a team of 10-15 people at 5 locations Set individual and team sales goals; develop and implement weekly/monthly associate incentive and bonus programs to help achieve these targets Coach, mentor, and provide ongoing feedback and support to team members, identifying training needs and growth opportunities Develop training materials and establish clear sales policies and procedures Educate staff about our diverse range of products, sharing product stories and best sales techniques Monitor sales performance metrics and prepare regular reports for the owner Oversee onboarding and training for new sales associates Resolve customer concerns or complaints promptly and effectively, ensuring a positive shopping experience Collaborate with the owner on marketing initiatives, promotional events, and product selection as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming sales floor environment Collaborate with other department heads to ensure smooth operations
Desired Qualifications:
10+ years of retail sales experience, preferably in furniture or home décor 2+ years of retail sales management experience, preferably with experience in furniture and home décor Strong leadership, coaching, and team-development skills Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving growth Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Proficiency in POS systems, scheduling software, and basic MS Office/Google Suite tools Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
