This position will be responsible for overseeing and supporting operations of retail tasting room(s) at our main winery location in Ringgold, GA as well as shifts at our booth at Rock City gardens atop Lookout Mountain, GA. The Assistant Manager is knowledgeable of all aspects of the tasting room and assumes full responsibility for the retail store + tasting lounge areas. We are looking for candidates with a can-do attitude who enjoy working with all kinds of people! They must possess a passion for all things wine, serving and talking to customers, and have the initiative to provide excellent hospitality and customer service as we believe this is the most important element for a world-class winery experience. Skills:
    Required:

    Minimum of 2 years of management experience

    • Someone who is both Task and People oriented
    • Must love working with all types of people- both customers and staff- as you will be serving both. Is a natural leader who can manage and engage staff while leading by example.
    • Is passionate about serving people.
    • Is a champion of exceptional customer service and has an innate ability to problem solve. Provide customer service by greeting and assisting customers and responding to customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner.
    • Meet and greet customers and create a memorable experience. Converse and educate with customers on the topic of wines, wine pairings, and types of wine.
    • Effectively up-sell wine and associated merchandise.
    • Extremely organized, able to multi-task many priorities, and gets tasks accomplished efficiently.
    • Driven, motivated, determined, can-do attitude, positive attitude, team player, and hardworking.
    • Computer skills such as email, Microsoft Office, and Google Docs are required as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
    • Willingness to work alone and run the booth at Rock City independently when short staffed as well as manages the operations of the booth to make sure staff are operating well and the booth is being maintained well.
    • Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members and customers.
    • Represent the company and brand professionally.
    • Accurately handle daily tasks including but not limited to—complex POS transactions, entering orders, updating memberships.
    • Stock wine, merchandise and supplies as needed.
    • Perform various cleaning responsibilities as outlined.
    • Assist with special events as assigned.
    • Attend staff meetings and training as scheduled.
    • Can lead Tour Groups through our facility
    • Ensuring quality and consistency of our wines, staff, operations, and customer experience.
    • Consistently overseeing implementation and execution of policies and procedures.
    • Utilizes team members for their strengths to get all tasks completed.
    • Ensuring excellence in store organization and cleanliness.
    • Works closely with management team to respond to business needs and initiatives.
    • Manage and troubleshoot all operational, staffing, and equipment related issues.
    • Focus on driving sales and profitability, remain on budget, and minimize loss and waste.
    • Excellent communication and follow-up. A solid tasting room manager for Georgia Winery conveys information on a daily basis to keep team members informed and management informed.
    • Enforce safety, health, and security rules.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen and dining areas.

    Physical Requirements /

    Working Conditions:

    Must be able to lift 50 pounds and have a strong back to lift cases of wine upstairs. Be able to stand and work on feet 8+ hours a day. Flexible schedule required since you may stay later in day, depending on customer traffic. Also, will cover any staff call outs as needed. The booth at Rock City is covered and outside so you must dress accordingly and have a flexible schedule since some days will not open due to inclement weather. Ability to work weekends and holidays. Must be at least 21 years old. Must have reliable transportation. Have a professional appearance and demeanor. Works well in a fast-paced environment

    Schedule:
    • Schedule can vary according to business needs, but typical schedule consists of 35- 40 hours.
    • Required to work Weekends, Nights, and Holidays. Every weekend is required for full time staff Assistant Managers.
    • Can work varied hours/ days and is willing to be on call during all hours of operations for assistance as needed.
    • Rock City shift varies and includes some nights.

    You may be scheduled to work Rock City and/ or cover as needed.
