This person should have experience in overseeing business operations as well as understanding or expertise in the areas of human resources, general finance, and logistics. The ideal candidate will be an expert communicator who has a strong ability to delegate responsibility and collaborate across a range of departments. Ultimately, the retail manager should be driven by a desire to lead our client’s business to maximum productivity and efficiency.

Core Responsibilities:

Retail Operations Establish a motivating work environment that actively encourages and supports employee involvement with an eye towards development and exceptional customer experience to ensure repeat business. Partner with General Operations Manager to design strategy and set goals for growth as well as evaluate and improve operations and financial performance. Open and close shoppe against established procedures as needed. Advertise job vacancies through appropriate channels, such as online job boards, social media, and local networks. Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and select candidates who align with the store’s values, culture, and requirements. Provide hands-on training to ensure that new hires understand their roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations. Provide supporting in conducting regular performance evaluations to assess employee performance, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement. Provide ongoing coaching and support to help employees develop their skills, overcome challenges, and achieve their full potential. Identify opportunities for career growth and advancement within the organization and support employees in pursuing their career goals. Provide support with creating employee schedules that meet the staffing needs of the store while considering factors such as peak hours, sales forecasts, and employee availability. Communicate schedules to staff in a timely manner and make adjustments as necessary to accommodate changing business needs. Ensure adequate staffing levels during busy periods and special events to provide excellent customer service. Foster open communication and a positive work environment by actively listening to employee concerns, providing feedback, and resolving issues constructively. Promote teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect among staff members to build a cohesive and supportive team. Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the store to create a positive shopping environment. Implement measures to prevent theft, damage, or loss of merchandise, such as security tagging and surveillance. Merchandising Ensure that merchandise is properly tagged, labeled, and priced according to company standards. Support the develop of merchandising plans and strategies in alignment with overall retail store goals and objectives. Logistics Monitor inventory levels and turnover rates to optimize stock levels and minimize excess inventory. Coordinate with the buying and/or procurement team to forecast demand, place orders, and replenish merchandise on the retail store floor as needed. Conduct regular stock audits and inventory counts to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures.

Enthusiastic, self-confident, and self-motivated with a positive attitude always. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, or holidays. Proven experience in an operational role within the retail industry. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools. Solid understanding of inventory management best practices. Proven success in a managerial role. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong decision-making ability. Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills. Proven ability to develop and achieve financial plans. Ability to motivate and lead employees and hold them accountable. Strong working knowledge of operational procedures.
