DESCRIPTION

Berry College’s Retail Enterprises is seeking a Graduate Assistant to support the Retail Manager with the daily operations of both the Shipyard campus store and three other retail enterprises: Lavender Mountain Dreams, Sunshine Room Textiles, and Viking Furniture. This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn the intricacies of managing both physical and digital storefronts on a college campus. Ideal candidates will possess strong customer service skills, a passion for mentorship, and a desire to grow personally and professionally in a dynamic retail environment.
Graduate Assistants will receive an hourly wage and tuition remission for Berry’s MBA program. The position requires a commitment of 20 hours per week, primarily during business hours, with occasional evening or weekend hours as needed.

Responsibilities:

Assist with daily, in-store operations for all retail enterprises
Support event preparation for markets, football games, author readings, and commencement
Manage invoices and prepare monthly financial reports
Mentor and supervise students
Facilitate product procurement for faculty, staff, and campus departments
Act as the primary liaison for the Oak Hill Gift Shop

REQUIREMENTS

Preferred Skills:

Experience using Clover, Thrive, Canva, or Shopify
Previous retail experience
Website design or management experience
Proficiency using Microsoft Excel
Creativity and an interest in design
