Manager and Spirit Asst. Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the wine and spirits department. They will play a crucial role in managing the wine and spirits inventory, ensuring compliance with liquor laws, and providing excellent customer service to patrons seeking alcoholic beverages. Wine and Spirit Asst. Managers will work closely with their team to maintain a well-stocked and attractive department while adhering to legal regulations and safety standards.
FUNCTIONAL DUTIES
Team Leadership:
Manage, train, and develop sales associates and product specialists.
Product Selection:
Curate and expand the selection of wines and spirits, taking into account customer preferences and market trends.
Inventory Management:
Monitor wine and spirit inventory levels and manage stock to ensure a diverse and well-stocked selection.
Quality Control:
Inspect products for quality, ensuring that all wines and spirits meet company standards and legal requirements.
Customer Assistance:
Provide expert advice to customers seeking recommendations or information about wines and spirits, including food pairings and tasting notes.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws related to the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages.
Merchandising:
Create visually appealing displays and arrange products in an organized and attractive manner to encourage sales.
Vendor Relations:
Develop and maintain positive relationships with wine and spirits suppliers and distributors.
Training and Education:
Provide ongoing training to staff on product knowledge, responsible serving practices, and customer service skills.
Marketing and Events:
Plan and execute wine tastings, promotional events, and educational seminars to engage customers and drive sales.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a wine and spirits department, liquor store, or a related field, with some supervisory experience.
Knowledge of Wines and Spirits:
Strong knowledge of various wines, spirits, and alcoholic beverages from different regions and styles.
Customer Service:
A customer-centric approach with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
Communication Skills:
