This role is responsible for collaborating, leading and inspiring the team in effort to provide excellent service to our customers. The Store Manager should be able to build a strong partnership with all associates and be skilled in cultivating relationships with existing customers and generating new customers. This position is responsible for increasing store sales and networking in the local area and surrounding communities. The Store Manager will work in a dynamic environment and thrive in an entrepreneurial and results oriented culture.

Responsibilities :

Overall Report to Regional Sales Director Foster a customer-focused team environment and communicate needs & feedback of your specific customer base Develop relationships with existing customers and generate new customer relationships Lead business efforts for the retail store, including marketing, sales and local events (researching local opportunities and implementing for store) Represent Southern Baked at local community, marketing and networking events. Must attend monthly Chamber of Commerce meetings. Manage and handle any customer problems, situations or unfamiliar issues – report to the Regional Sales Director first to work on the solution then resolve with the customer. Ensure in-store policies, procedures and operations run effectively Meet or surpass daily/weekly/monthly/yearly sales goals for the retail store through various efforts including lead generation, catering, and corporate gifting opportunities Discover relevant industry and location-specific updates and trends and bring those to the attention of decision-makers at the corporate level. Effectively operate with enthusiasm and flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment Associate Stewardship.

Associate Stewardship:

Manage store operations including but not limited to proper opening and closing the store, daily cleaning tasks, stocking inventory and merchandise, proper care and handling of pies, POS system/cash handling, taking orders, greeting customers, answering phone. Lead, manage and hold the staff accountable in all areas. This includes managing the ongoing evaluation process for both new hires and other team members, according to the SBP Performance Evaluations Process. Implement company training programs with new and existing associates . Foster a team commitment through support, relationship building, and recognizing associate contributions. Ensure associates are knowledgeable of all products, ingredients, upsell process, & updates o Develop incentive programs to motivate the team to sell and achieve sales goals o Ensure the team complies with proper safety and food handling standards as well as cleaning process. Develop and oversee associate work schedules (monthly), due mid-month prior to Regional Sales Director. Store Manager must close the store at least once in a two-week pay period. Must be available to work a minimum of one Saturday a month. Must be available during holiday weeks (with open to close availability on the 3 days leading to the holiday) including but not limited to: Valentine’s Day, Pi Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Thanksgiving, & Christmas. Balance associate schedule requests with the needs of the business. Work schedules should include no more than two people on staff at a time unless for a holiday or approved by Mallory/owners. Goal to move towards 3 shift options (9am-close, 9am-2pm, and 2pm-close) as turnover arises. Document & handle associate issues as they arise. Maintain associate files of each instance with detailed dates and how it was handled. Move forward with formal write up and discipline process in partnership with Regional Sales Director. Be comfortable delegating tasks to store team and giving fast feedback as needed. Provide Regional Sales Director with business case when additional staffing is needed, including the number of hours you can provide the candidate while staying within the two person working at a time guideline. Responsible for helping to source and interview candidates and onboard new hires.

Product:

Ensure the right pies and supplies are in the right place (carts, display, catering, deliveries) at the right time. Submit product orders for the retail store on a daily basis (as well as outside events). Maintain balance of ordering enough pie to make display look full and satisfy customer need without leading to excessive pie waste. Maintain in-store merchandise displays and shelving; take inventory of merchandise/supplies and request additional items immediately when needed. Track daily/weekly/monthly sales results and trends. Maximize profitability and store goals.

Financial:

Generate and execute at least 5 large catering orders per week: Visit 10 local businesses per week and report updates to Regional via email by 12noon on Mondays. These can include businesses within walking distance in and around your store location and can include schools, banks, girl scout groups, women’s groups, office buildings, etc. Business visits should give the company a quick introduction to the company and what we offer, drop of samples, and obtain contact information to use for follow up. Provide 15 leads a week to Regional Manager – leads can come from chamber meetings, corporate office visits, walk-in customers, people you know, etc. Leads from previous week are due via email by 12 noon on Mondays. Monitor customer in-store transactions and catering orders. Handle weekly store bank deposit and reconcile any invoices. Post on LinkedIn profile once weekly to generate business (post will be written for you and help setting up an account will be provided if needed)

Events:

Identify and implement local event and partnership opportunities to host/participate in a minimum of 4 events per month per store. Must be available to work weeknights and weekends for outside marketing events which drive sales to the stores. Responsible for event setup and associate scheduling, including event signup, supplies, pies, samples. Follow up with all leads generated at events and in-store . The responsibilities of the Store Manager position are many, various and not limited to those listed in this document.
