PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Sign Shopfloor Managers oversee the daily operations of the fabrication and channel letter departments, including managing staff, overseeing production, and ensuring high-quality products. They must have a keen eye for design, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. .

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUITES

This position works as a professional sign fabricator on the floor as well as manages the sign fabricators and channel letter employees. Primary responsibilities include managing the production workflow, ensuring the timely delivery of projects, and maintaining the quality of the product Ensuring all signs are produced to a high quality and meet the customer’s specifications Implementing and maintaining safety and health standards in the workplace Together with purchasing maintains an inventory of supplies and request purchasing to order materials as needed Ensures cost-efficiency in production Develops project schedules, cross-functional deliverables and detailed timelines. Identifies and manages project priorities and cross-project dependencies In conjunction with the Operations Manager, is responsible for safety and all OSHA requirements. Supervises all fabrication and channel letter employees. In conjunction with Human Resources and the Operations Manager will provide input for the direct hiring of production employees. In conjunction with Human Resources and the Operations Manager is responsible for discipline and/or corrective actions for all production employees. In conjunction with Human Resources and the Operations Manager will assist in the hiring process. Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor. Keeps up to date with industry trends and introducing innovative ideas in design and production

QUALIFICATIONS

Proven experience as a Sign Shop Manager or similar role Strong knowledge of sign production techniques and materials Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a professional sign Fabricator. Excellent project management and organizational skills Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines High school diploma or equivalent.

GENERAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

Reliable, presentable, detailed oriented with excellent customer service skills This position works as a professional sign fabricator on the floor as well as manages the sign fabricators and channel letter employees. Adept at using hand and power tools such as hammer, drills, table & panel saws, jigsaws, various wall anchors and mounts, post concrete, grommet machine, corner rounders, levels, files, rulers, tall ladders, and aerial lifts/booms. MUST be a self-motivated team player, and demonstrate a professional, upbeat, positive attitude. Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy and organization skills. Must work well in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing situations and customer requests. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., work with power tools, and use ladder comfortably.
