Summary The Body Shop, Warranty and Repair Order Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of all Body Shop, Warranty and Repair Order activities and programs. Ensures that repairs, including meeting time schedules and productivity levels are being achieved in a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. Responsibilities Hires, trains, motivates and monitors the performance of all body shop employees. Directs and schedules the work of all body shop employees. Checks Repair Order (RO) status report and filters units in by age Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality. Audits various program for elements of effectiveness; schedules and performs audits; identifies issues and develops corrective action plans. Reorder supplies, etc as necessary to ensure adequate inventory is maintained. Provide training to facilitate adequate performance of job functions and to comply with company policy Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc. Provides necessary training and supervision for mechanics, technicians, painters, warranty and repair order staff. Monitors the maintenance of paint booths, frame straightening equipment, and other large fixed assets to ensure long-term usage and value. Maintains thorough knowledge of related federal and state automotive shop regulations and websites. Supervise and direct department personnel regarding work load and daily activities. Monitor and dispose of hazardous waste and adhere to company safety protocols. Maintain a safe work environment following all safety policies and procedures. Provide performance feedback to all employees. Council employees as needed to comply with company policies and performance expectations and work practices. Prepare and communicate disciplinary notices and actions. Skills Requires flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving, decision making and conflict management skills Strong planning and organizing skills Strong decision-making and conflict management skills Organized, and ability to multi-task with minimal supervision Proficient computer and software skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Iveles, SAP) Ability and willingness to work within constant changing priorities and deadlines Education & Experience High School Diploma/G.E.D OR equivalent combination of education and experience required Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 4 years of direct operational knowledge and proven leadership skills in prepping processes, GHS, respiratory protection, painting required. 6 – 8 of direct operational knowledge and proven leadership skills in prepping processes, GHS, respiratory protection, painting, hazardous waste preferred Certification in Automotive Tech, Paint & Body, PPG Refinish required Must hold a valid Driver’s License and the ability to drive automatic and stick shift Physical Requirements Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing Sit Stand/walk Drive Bend/stoop Climb, Reach above shoulder Kneel/squat Balance, Push/Pull Crawl/Crouch Lift up to 75lbs Carry up to 40lbs Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
