Job Summary
The Door Shop Supervisor at NELCO is responsible for overseeing the Lead Lined Door and MRI Door production shops. This role includes managing daily activities, production planning, manpower management, inventory control, safety and ensuring product quality and timely delivery. The position involves leading teams in working with construction materials to manufacture doors. The role may require performing physically demanding tasks to ensure on-time delivery.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
Hands on position leading the door shop team to meet or exceed safety, quality, and delivery standards.
Interpret work orders, drawings, assembly instructions, and packaging specifications.
Manage and purchase necessary equipment.
Manage and operate CNC router including writing code when necessary.
Communicate with the senior management on inventory, parts, and quality issues.
Operate hand tools, power tools, woodworking equipment, and forklifts.
Participate in team meetings to enhance performance and safety.
Supervisory Responsibility
Manage team time, handle injuries, and conduct safety meetings.
Oversee production control, including inventory management, scrap reduction, and maintaining production logs and reports.
Lead collaborative teams for large projects and across functional areas.
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
High school diploma or GED required.
1-3 years of relevant work experience.
Basic computer skills and ERP system familiarity.
Ability to communicate and comprehend moderately complex information in English.
Knowledge of concepts, practices, and policies, and ability to operate complex machine.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
In this role, the individual is frequently required to exert between 20 to 50 pounds of force and occasionally up to 100 pounds. The job involves constant operation of forklifts and frequent walking, squatting, kneeling, and performing repetitive hand movements. Personal protective equipment, such as full face masks, earplugs, safety glasses, and gloves, may be necessary to ensure safety and compliance with workplace standards. The position requires adherence to safety protocols while handling physically demanding tasks to maintain effective operations and product quality.
