Role:
A fast-paced and highly respected adult-use cannabis dispensary is seeking a Retail Supervisor to join our management team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in leadership, has a passion for cannabis, and brings a calm, confident approach to coaching others. The ideal candidate will be equally skilled in people management and retail inventory operations, with a proven ability to lead by example on the sales floor.
Position Summary:
The Retail Supervisor supports the day-to-day floor operations while mentoring and guiding Budtenders to maintain the highest standards in compliance, customer service, and professionalism. This role is equal parts coaching and operational execution. A strong candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable addressing performance concerns with clarity and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
People Leadership & Training Supervise and support Budtenders during shifts, maintaining pace, compliance, and professionalism Provide real-time feedback, coaching, and corrective guidance to staff as needed Train new hires and help reinforce company SOPs, product knowledge, and customer service protocols Assist with employee evaluations and goal setting, serving as a mentor to team members Cultivate a supportive, respectful, and inclusive culture on the floor Inventory Oversight Support accurate receiving, restocking, and organization of inventory Assist with cycle counts and discrepancy resolutions in coordination with the inventory Manager Monitor sales floor stock levels and help ensure all available products are represented on the menu. Maintain accurate records in POS and seed-to-sale tracking systems (e.g., Metrc) Flag compliance concerns or operational issues related to product handling Customer Experience Maintain a warm, welcoming, and educational atmosphere for all customers Resolve escalated customer concerns with professionalism and discretion Ensure team awareness of current promotions, featured products, and daily goals
Qualifications:
2+ years of supervisory experience in a retail or regulated industry (cannabis preferred) Skilled in coaching and correcting employees in a respectful, results-driven way Strong communication skills and comfort with giving feedback Familiarity with inventory workflows and systems; Metrc experience is a strong plus Ability to multitask in a high-volume, compliance-focused environment Must be 21+ and able to pass a CORI background check
