Summary As a General Store Manager at MUJI Newbury , you will lead our retail team in delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining the core principles of our brand. Reporting to the District Manager, the General Store Manager is responsible for achieving Sales and Profit goals by prioritizing the best customer experience. This involves developing and supporting the store team and managing performance based on results, values, and leadership principles. The General Store Manager ensures compliance with legal requirements, MUJI standards, policies, and procedures to meet customer and team expectations. The General Store Manager oversees direct reports such as Store Manager, Store Visual Manager, Assistant Manager, Keyholders, Visual Associate, and Sales Associates within an assigned brick-and-mortar location. Possessing an entrepreneurial spirit, the General Store Manager makes difficult and strategic decisions to drive the success of the business. The General Store Manager takes pride in operational excellence and always meets the highest MUJI standards. Responsibilities Oversee and manage recruitment, training, development, and succession planning in line with MUJI best practices, staying updated on industry trends and implementing innovative strategies. Strengthen and nurture the MUJI culture by actively promoting feedback and creating a culture of fostering continuous improvement within the daily work of the Store Team, providing coaching and guidance. Leading through our values while effectively collaborating and communicating information to deliver the right experience. Provide Country/Region/Store/Organizational goals through daily Store Meetings and weekly/monthly Leadership training through regularly scheduled Meetings, fostering a cohesive and informed team environment. Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, legal requirements, and security protocols. Exhibit an entrepreneurial mindset and take pride in maximizing the daily operations of the Store, driving profitability and operational efficiency. Demonstrate a passion for driving results, utilizing your expertise to maximize overall store productivity, achieve sales targets, and build customer loyalty through an exceptional guest experience. Understands Store- specific barriers to growth and ensure associates are focused on top priorities to deliver the best customer experience. Ensure consistent adherence to MUJI Brand Visual Standards by taking ownership of all visual and merchandising processes, creating visually appealing and customer-centric store displays. Ensure that schedule is created to have the right people, at the right time, doing the right work to maximize on driving sales and customer experience. Analyze performance results, collaborate with the leadership team, and make data-driven decisions to drive key performance indicators and achieve business goals. Utilize forecasting and scheduling techniques to drive profitable sales and optimize staffing resources. Represent the brand and stay informed about the competitive landscape, identifying market trends and adapting strategies accordingly. Works with marketing team to create brand awareness in the community. Ability to deliver the 4 MUJI values of Happiness, Work, Culture and Goals. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in team management. Proven track record of exceeding sales and statistical expectations. Maintains up-to-date professional and technical knowledge. Additional Information Occasional travel required both domestically and overseas Flexibility to work varied hours, including late shifts, weekends, and holidays May be requested to work in other locations from time to time Bend, lift, open, and move products and fixtures up to 50 lbs. as needed.
