Summary As a Store Manager at MUJI Newbury , you will lead our retail team in delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining the core principles of our brand. The Store Manager is responsible for managing and developing an efficient sales team in order to maximize sales. This is a leadership role where you will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of functions. Responsibilities Sales Maximize opportunities for sales by use of merchandise and company reporting tools. Responsible for sales budgets and ensure all staff are aware of targets. Manage profit and loss for assigned location. Ensure compliance with laws applicable to the retail industry. Maintain highest standards of Customer Service regarding complaints handling and after sales service. Liaising with the local community ensuring promotional activities (e.g. seasonal sales, advertising etc.) are prominent at branch level with the utmost impact. Has a plan in place to prioritize the right work and achieve established goals. Study store trends and make appropriate suggestions to immediate supervisor Determine marketing strategy changes by reviewing store and departmental sales records. Work with stockroom supervisor to ensure stock levels and product mix meet demands. Flexibility to work varied hours including late shifts, weekends and holidays. Understands Store- specific barriers to growth and ensure associates are focused on top priorities to deliver the best customer experience. Work with the Management Team to perfect the customer’s journey with focused customer service training and best seller information. Ensure Associates are providing superior sales service in efficient cash handling and appropriate packing of merchandise. Ensure the company cash handling procedures are correctly and accurately adhered to. Team Management Ensure all staff receive appropriate and necessary training. Ensure Assistant Store Managers on the team are fully capable of substituting in Store Managers absence. Perform timely and consistent performance reviews in line with MUJI U.S.A.’s directives. Ensure that schedule is created to have the right people, at the right time, doing the right work to maximize on driving sales and customer experience. Adhere to and enforce MUJI U.S.A.’s Policies and Procedures. Leading through our values while effectively collaborating and communicating information to deliver the right experience. Visual Merchandising Ensure visual merchandising standards are maintained as set by the Operations and Visual Merchandising departments. Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained. standards and be fully conversant with procedures required to achieve this. Human Resources Maintain staffing levels by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Develops team members by working shoulder-to-shoulder to build customer service capability, ensuring best customer experience is delivered in the store. Ensure MUJI U.S.A.’s on-boarding procedures are being followed. Ensure maintenance issues are resolved efficiently. Oversee proper use of alarm system and ensure an authorized key holder is on premises during opening hours and are fully aware of procedures. Ensure access to store, outside normal operating hours, is authorized and communicated to immediate supervisor. Ensure a safe and clean store environment. Health, Safety & Security Take responsibility for security of the store, stock and cash, and liaise with Area Manager or Sales Manager over potential problems. Maintain stock losses to a minimum (maximum of 1% of sales). Responsible for running twice-yearly inventories. Comply with and enforce the Company’s Health and Safety policy. Qualifications Ability to manage and develop a positive and productive team. Motivated to achieve and exceed goals. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to drive and motivate performance through effective training and coaching skills. Demonstrable and strong business acumen. Highly organized with the ability to adapt quickly to strategic change. Self-starter, who takes initiative. Good communicator. Additional Information Occasional travel required both domestically and overseas Flexibility to work varied hours, including late shifts, weekends, and holidays May be requested to work in other locations from time to time Bend, lift, open, and move products and fixtures up to 50 lbs. as needed.
