About the Agency The Pearl River Valley Water Supply District provides water to the City of Jackson for treatment and distribution, serves over 5,800 water customers in four systems, and provides recreational opportunities for over 2,250,000 annual visitors. The Ross Barnett Reservoir is a 33,000-acre impoundment at the heart of the District on the Pearl River just north of Jackson. Ownership and operation of the reservoir, its shoreline, and the 17,000 acres of surrounding property is vested in the District. The District member counties include Hinds, Madison, Rankin, Scott, and Leake counties. The District is responsible for the maintenance of the reservoir dam, spillway, approximately 50 public areas and entrances, 5 campgrounds, and 4 water/sewer systems. The spillway control tower, Reservoir Patrol, and the 5 campgrounds are staffed 24 hours a day. About the Position Manager accountable for managing a large state park, multiple small parks, or large program and supervising permanent, seasonal, temporary and volunteer employees in the protection, maintenance, operation and repair of state parks, natural and cultural resources, facilities, equipment and systems. Directs the general management of policy development, program planning, and coordination, and the evaluation of policy or organizational changes and new programs. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training; work planning, assignments, and review; and performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.
