SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
This class is responsible for stockroom duties in maintaining/issuing gasoline/diesel motor vehicle and equipment parts shop for various departments of the Fayetteville Public Works Commission. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, requisitioning routine/special order repair parts for emergency/ routine repairs/maintenance of vehicles/equipment; purchasing parts/materials from specified vendors; completing/issuing requisitions forms; contacting vendors to locate hard to find parts, obtaining price quotes, delivering as needed; refining/ establishing, and maintaining inventory control methods to keep stock at experience levels to meet daily demands; unloading/stocking parts order; issuing parts/materials; conducting periodic inventory on all parts and materials in stock; driving/operating vehicles in performing work assignments/responsibilities. Operates under supervision of the designated supervisor, in accordance with establish policies and procedures. Extended hours, weekend, and on-call availability are required. Performs related work as required.

Computer, communication, and other equipment, as required.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Good knowledge of safety rules, regulations, and procedures; good knowledge of stock for accountability; good knowledge of a variety of equipment/materials, and fixtures/supplies used by trades; working knowledge of stock control methods, and procedures including records keeping procedures; ability to effectively manage parts storeroom, and record system; ability to oversee the work of others; ability to make accurate mathematical computations; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with departmental officials, employees, and vendors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from a high school or possession of high school equivalency diploma, and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, power plant maintenance, or related field.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess/maintain a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.

Minimal.
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
As required in the Public Works Commission’s Safety Manual.
