Position Overview:
We are seeking an entrepreneurial-minded Co-Founder and General Manager to lead our new retail health and wellness store, Natural Life. The Manager will be responsible for driving sales and marketing, managing and attending external events, hiring and training staff, and ensuring that customers have a positive and enriching experience with our brand. The right candidate will have experience establishing and growing retail storefronts from scratch with a particular passion for personal health/wellness and natural remedies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Retail Operations Management Oversee all aspects of daily operations, including opening, closing, and ensuring inventory is well-maintained and fully stocked. Manage and attend local events, setting up and tearing down the merchandise table, advertising, and point of sale. Develop and implement operational strategies that enhance business performance and efficiency. Maintain high standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and overall presentation. 2. Sales & Customer Service Set and achieve sales targets, with personal accountability for exceeding revenue goals. Foster a customer-centric environment by delivering outstanding service and building lasting customer relationships. Address and resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner. 3. Team Building Recruit, hire, train, and develop staff to build a high-performing team of certified wellness coaches and sales associates. Maintain and operate a wellness coach certification training program that consists of self-study materials, exams, and hands-on training. Lead by example, promoting a positive work environment and strong team collaboration and lifelong learning. Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, updates, and provide feedback. 4. Inventory & Merchandising Manage inventory levels, placing orders and receiving shipments to maintain appropriate stock levels. Collaborate with the owner and franchise to ensure product options align with customer preferences and industry trends. Ensure proper product placement, pricing, and promotional displays that align with franchise guidelines. 5. Financial Management Monitor business performance through key financial metrics, including sales, profitability, and expenses. Manage the store budget and control costs to maximize profitability. 6. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with company policies, franchise guidelines, and local regulations. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for both employees and customers.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years proven experience as an Entrepreneur and General Manager or similar leadership role, preferably in the health and wellness retail industry. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Solid understanding of retail operations, sales principles, and customer service best practices. Proficiency in retail software and point-of-sale (POS) systems, Microsoft Office or equivalent, and strong computer literacy skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience managing P&L for retail locations with over $1mm in annual revenues. Proven track record of setting and achieving aggressive sales growth targets. Strong marketing and advertising acumen. Experience with participating in, organizing, and managing relevant local events.
