Coating Business Unit Leader Reports to:

Plant Manager Job Classification:

Salaried Exempt

• Full Time (First Shift)

Job Duties:

Supervise the activities of the coating team to achieve the business plan. Achieve Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and Delivery targets for the business unit. Coordinate with the Plant Manager and Customer Service team to establish and/or modify department work schedule. Monitor finished goods inventory and customer orders and establish production run schedule weekly. Regularly evaluate staffing levels and coordinate with Human Resources to ensure levels necessary to meet the business plan. Maintain attendance records and timely and accurate payroll reporting for the coating department. Ensure that all coating employees receive specified training and ensure that adequate cross training is implemented to ensure business continuity. Stimulate an engaging work environment and address any morale issues promptly. Perform both scheduled and impromptu performance reviews and strive to identify developmental opportunities within the coating team. Establish clear expectations, recognize successes, and apply accountability on opportunities. Utilize progressive discipline when expectations are not met. Understand and implement company policies in the Coating Business Unit. Maintain PM and TPM schedules in the department and communicate unscheduled maintenance issues to plant maintenance team for support. Maintain excellent organization and housekeeping in the coating department. Assure efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the coating department. Assure ISO procedures pertaining to coating are maintained, administered, and all documentation is completed according to written procedures. Perform any other jobs or duties as determined by Supervision or Management.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3-5 years Supervisory or Leadership experience
• Manufacturing Experience
• Good Communication Skills
• Excellent Listening Skills
• Comfortable in a collaborative environment (team player)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Textile Manufacturing Experience
• Chemical Coating Experience
• Resin Application Experience
• Planning/Scheduling Experience
• Lean Manufacturing Understanding/Experience
