GENERAL SUMMARY
& SCOPETheGeneral Manager (GM) is responsible for leading through UltaBeauty’s mission, vision, and values in order to develop ahigh-performing team that consistently delivers top-line salesgrowth for the store. The GM leads a team of managers and isaccountable for all aspects of managing a single retail store,inclusive of the salon. This leader drives the store’s businessthrough a focus on performance (sales, service, and expensecontrol), people (talent acquisition, training, and development),and process (standard operating procedures and compliancestandards). PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed UltaBeauty’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty(including credit), payroll, omni-channel, and retail shrink as setby Ulta Beauty for the GM’s store. Drive company profitability through operational excellence,top-line sales growth, and expense control. Leverage store forecast and payroll budgets to support withstore scheduling needs to maximize productivity, achieve sales andpayroll goals, and complete workload on time, and within thepayroll budget. Address any issues identified by Ulta Beauty’s financial andoperational reporting, as well as by store visits and audit resultsto achieve Ulta Beauty’s goals set for their store and drivecompany profitability. Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and productdemonstrations with guests to drive sales and guest serviceexperience. Take the initiative to stay informed regarding new and existingindustry trends, products, and services during work time and beknowledgeable about the ingredients and benefits of these trends,products, and services to better serve guests. Maintain prompt, regular attendance as the GM and hold allstore associates accountable to the Ulta Beauty attendancepolicy. People Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent, andefficiently address any staffing needs and open positions for thestore. In partnership with the DM and People Success, address policyviolations with appropriate corrective action up to and includingseparation of employment fairly and in accordance with UltaBeauty’s policies and procedures. Build a highly engaged team at the store that embodies the UltaBeauty brand through effective collaboration, open and honestcommunication, and prioritization of work. Create an inclusive environment that inspires and encouragesthe growth and engagement of associates. Lead all aspects of manager and associate development includingtraining, providing individualized competency-based feedback andcoaching, performance reviews, succession planning, and individualdevelopment plans to enable continuous development and drive salesperformance. Regularly participate in ongoing training, including brand andcategory education, to enable continuous professional developmentand drive sales performance. Ensure direct reports regularly participate in ongoingtraining, including brand and category education, to enablecontinuous professional development and drive salesperformance. Model a culture of open communication by sharing enterprisestrategy with direct reports and creating goals in alignment withUlta Beauty’s goals for their store. Promote a culture of teamwork by working alongside themanagement team, establishing priorities, and providing cleardirection. Execute the Guest Engagement Leader program flawlessly throughbusiness ownership, associate coaching, and leading a helpful andfriendly guest experience to drive business results across allAnnual Performance Goal (APG) metricsfor the store. Process Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’spolicies, procedures, and standards. Adhere to and enforce Ulta Beauty’s dress code. Use the company’s scheduling tool as directed to schedule theright associates, in the right places, at the right times in orderto provide an exceptional guest experience, reduce loss, andexecute company directives. Use the company’s task management tool as directed toprioritize the execution of all store workload, and ensure fullleadership adoption and compliance with company policy. Protect company assets and minimize loss by ensuring all storestandards and operating procedures are met, including workplacesafety, inventory control, cash management, and lossprevention. Execute day-to-day inventory control processes (e.g., knowntheft, damages, hazardous waste, inventory adjustments, productreturns) and complete theft reporting as necessary. Support continuous improvement by influencing the adoption ofcompany initiatives and technology, communicating expectations, andensuring the execution of all store tasks. Utilize company programs, tools, and resources to drive storeimprovements. Regularly communicate with and provide feedback to fieldleadership on business trends and opportunities, operationalchallenges, merchandise needs, and competitive landscape for theirstore.
JOB QUALIFICATIONEducation Bachelor’s degree is preferred Experience 3-5+ years of fast-paced, retail management or other relevantwork experience Financial management: success with driving top-line sales,interpreting reporting data, managing payroll budgets, andcontrolling expense Retail management: proven ability with monitoring inventorylevels, achieving operational excellence, driving a serviceculture, and executing merchandising directives Leadership management: experience with attracting, developing,and motivating top talent, swiftly adapting to change and leadingothers through the change-curve, developing collaborativerelationships with others, and leading and influencing teamSkills Proficient with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale system,Microsoft Office programs, and Apple devices) Excellent written and verbal communication Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks Ability to react under pressure, use good judgment in ambiguoussituations, and be flexible/adaptable

Work a flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings,weekends, and holidays Must be available to close the store at least once perweek Attend corporate business meetings and conferences, includingovernight stays, and interstate travel Maintain valid identification for airline travel
