This role focuses on mentoring, supervising, providing constructive feedback, and documenting the work done by these teachers to ensure their growth and success in their teaching careers. For each student in the program, they will require two observations by their coach for each residency course they are taking. Each observation will require a pre and post observation as a part of the coaching. Duties and Responsibilities Meet the educational and licensure requirements established by NCCCS and NCDPI. Complete required initial and systematic trainings from NCCCS. Collaborate with and meet regularly with the CD, college faculty, learner, school-based mentor or Lead Success and School PSU. Perform a minimum of two (2) on-site observations per college class. Meet with faculty and learner to monitor progress Maintain and report observation evaluation data on each learner. Individualize coaching strategies to ensure all learners progress Provide meaningful support and feedback to learners as they work toward becoming a highly accomplished beginning teacher Track progress of RLCP learner checklist Assist learners in obtaining proficiency standards of EdTPA for initial licensure. May be responsible for the coaching among multiple cohorts running simultaneously. Give CD recommendations for learner license. Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Education or a related field. North Carolina Teaching certification in K-12 or be eligible to renew certification. Teaching experience in K-6 with a minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven experience in coaching or mentoring teachers, preferably in a residency program. Strong knowledge of North Carolina educational standards, curriculum development, and instructional strategies. Experience in the community college system
