This position is responsible for ensuring that the produce section is well-stocked, fresh, and appealing to customers. The Produce Manager will lead a team, manage inventory, and implement sales strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service. Duties Supervise and train produce department staff, ensuring employee orientation and ongoing development. Manage inventory levels, including ordering and receiving products to maintain optimal stock. Implement pricing strategies and promotions to drive sales in the produce department. Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Utilize retail math skills to analyze sales data, budgeting, and manage departmental expenses effectively. Communicate with vendors to negotiate prices and secure quality products. Organize displays to enhance the visual appeal of the produce section and attract customers. Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive shopping experience for customers. Qualifications Proven experience in retail management or a similar role, preferably in the produce or grocery sector. Strong understanding of retail math principles and budgeting practices. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, vendors, and customers. Knowledge of sales techniques and strategies related to produce merchandising. A passion for fresh produce and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
