Position Description
Under the direction of ownership, the Store Manager will collaborate with the Activities Manager and ownership to help lead and launch the ongoing operations of Wild Meadow Paddlesports on a seasonal basis. The Store Manager will be responsible for participating in all startup tasks, such as setting up computer systems for rentals, payments, and inventory, as well as establishing vendor relationships, recruiting staff, and creating operational workflows.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsible for staffing and hiring efforts of new employees to include interviews, job offers, and onboarding.
Ensure all employees understand job responsibilities to include safety protocols, customer service expectations, and processes.
Create and manage staff scheduling on a regular basis and adjust as needed based on business demand.
Provide daily support for employees during all business operations including rental processes, performance expectations, and work ethic.
Delegation of daily tasks and responsibilities including cleaning, inventory, restocking, and inspections.
Reporting back to ownerships with any issues to operational needs.
Reporting back to ownership and HR of any performance needs, staffing needs, or termination of employees.
Duties/Responsibilities
Collaborate with the activities manager and ownership to develop and implement systems for store rentals including scheduling, tracking, and returns.
Implementing point of sale systems for the sales of products and rental transactions.
Manage inventory through tracking and management for kayaks, accessories, and other retail products.
Ensure all inventory is properly priced, tagged, and organized.
Manage relationships with outside vendors including negotiations and relationship management.
Responsible for customer management and communication.
Assist with setting up any physical store displays, signage, and maintenance schedules.
Sales of store products and services include gaining any necessary knowledge to communicate with customers.
Collaborate with the Activities Manager on marketing initiatives, community outreach, business performance and recommend improvements to ownership.
Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment for staff and customers.
Foster a positive and productive team environment.

Education and Experience
2+ years of experience in retail management or similar leadership experience (preferably in outdoor sporting goods or recreation).
Experience with point-of-sale systems, inventory management, and rental operations is preferred.
Strong computer literacy.
A passion for kayaking, outdoor sports, or other activities is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of kayaking, outdoor sporting equipment, gear, and accessories is preferred.
Possesses a CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
This position is seasonal between May and September to start. You must be willing to work weekends. Pay is on a weekly basis plus a commission structure.
