TheCommercial Kitchen Equipment Repair or Maintenance Team Leader isresponsible for managing and supervising the maintenance team atthe metro food production facility.
Experience with commercialkitchen repairs in a food production environment is required.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily operations of the maintenanceteam, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, completingmaintenance logs and any other documentation required as part offood safety and equipment safety, and ensuring all targets are metand safety protocols are followed.
- Lead and ensure that a USDepartment of Agriculture (USDA) manufacturing facility maintenanceteam operates safely and complies with regulatory and corporatesafety and environmental program standards and goals.
- Diagnoseequipment malfunctions and determine appropriate repair strategies
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for allequipment.
- Ensure checklists are followed, including inspectionof drives, motors and belts, fluid levels, filter replacements, andother maintenance functions.
- Organize and schedule maintenanceactivities to minimize production downtime.
- Assist in preparingand managing maintenance budgets, including cost estimates forrepairs and replacements.
- Adherence to all safety policies forequipment when maintaining or cleaning, including Lock Out Tag Out(LOTO).
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, spare parts,and tools.
- Communicate and maintain building safety and securitystandards and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)guidelines.
- Interview, select, train, develop, counsel, andmanage performance for Team Members in a way that builds andsustains a high-performing and engaged team.
- Collaborate withTeam Member Services on Team Member relations including, properdocumentation, investigations, corrective actions, and resolve teamconcerns and/or issues.
- In collaboration with subject matterexperts, maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliancewith, relevant regulatory rules and standards, includingOccupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), USDA, StateDepartment of Agriculture, Hazard Analysis and Critical ControlPoint (HACCP), Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA), Americanswith Disabilities Act (ADA), Department of Labor, Health andSanitation regulations, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), andWeights and Measures.
- Build a positive work environment ofoutstanding teamwork and mutual respect.
Qualifications:
- BA/BSdegree OR equivalent combination of education and relevantexperience.
- 2 years of experience in maintenance within a foodmanufacturing environment and 12 months of maintenance supervisoryexperience in the food manufacturing industry.
- Relevantcertifications such as Certified Maintenance & ReliabilityProfessional (CMRP), Certified Plant Maintenance Manager (CPMM), orsimilar credentials preferred.
- OSHA safety certification or otherrelevant safety training.
- Ability to plan, execute, and overseemaintenance projects from start to finish, ensuring they arecompleted on time and within budget.
- In-depth knowledge ofmechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, andhydraulic systems commonly used in food manufacturing.
- Strongability to read, analyze and interpret repair manuals, partscatalogs, blueprints, technical procedures, safety rules,operation/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Experience in managing relationships with external contractors,service providers, and equipment manufacturers.
- Familiarity withComputerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and othermaintenance-related software for scheduling, tracking, andreporting.
- Intermediate computer skills; proficiency in selectMicrosoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); andability to learn custom applications.
- Basic understanding ofEnterprise Resource Planning (ERP) processes within a foodmanufacturing environment.
- Ability to work well with others,self-motivated, and capable of working independently with littlesupervision.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on theneeds of the facility, including nights, weekends and holidays asrequired.
- Ability to build strong partnerships with keystakeholders, including Team Members, customers suppliers, andregulators.

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Must adhere to company dress code, standards of production kitchendress, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must be able toperform the essential functions of the job, with reasonableaccommodation.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation,pushing, and pulling.
- Work requires the following motions:bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Use common hand andpower tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, andhammers, as well as specialized equipment and electronic testingdevices.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposureto temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in wetand dry conditions.
- May require the use of ladders.
