This position supervises the performance ofseasonal managers and associates to ensure all retail locationsmaintain the highest quality presentation, drive sales growth anddeliver exceptional guest service with a goal for constantimprovement. High levels of self-motivation, leadership anddevelopment, initiative, multi-tasking and time management areessential. –

Responsibilities:

Manages the planning, coordinating and implementing of some orall retail operations of the Park, ensuring compliance with allapplicable policies, procedures, regulations and standards ofquality and safety. Positively develops all Park associates andpromotes division goals on a daily basis. Must be self-motivated,driven and have excellent initiative. Supervises seasonal staff, including instructing, assigning,reviewing and planning work of others, maintaining high standards,coordinating activities, hiring and placement, acting on associatesproblems, recommending and approving associate promotions,transfers, scheduling and discipline and recommending discharge.

Focuses on coaching and developing a team for long term to increaseoverall associate retention. Develops, implements and evaluatesquality assurance measures. Maintains the highest retail locationstandards and relocates and/or purchases products as needed toincrease profitability. Creates and teaches visual displaytechniques following established and frequently trend driven visualpresentation guidelines. Coordinates and oversees locations set-upbefore Park opening, including counting in received products,moving fixtures and products, visual merchandising and coordinatingproduct programs. Recognizes and quickly reacts to current retailtrends. Reviews department policies and procedures on a continuousbasis, making specific recommendations to improve service andefficiency.

Achieves financial goals through preparation andadherence to labor and revenue budgets and multiple expenseaccounts for all retail locations in the Park. Prepares monthly andquarterly financial and inventory reprojections, monitors andadjusts expenditures as needed. Creates, receives and reviewsvarious records and reports including expenses, revenue, cashvariance, labor dollars and hours, hiring levels, purchase orders,sales, schedules and inspection reports. Formulates, submits andimplements pricing strategies by reviewing sales and revenueperformance; determining additional needed sales promotions andclosely monitoring inventory levels, product turnover and profitmargin.

Interacts and communicates with various groups andindividuals such as immediate supervisor, other Park managers andstaff, subordinates, consultants, counterparts etc. Prepares anddelivers regular professional quality presentations to review pastperformance and deliver planned strategy for the future. Adheres toand enforces all Carowinds policies and procedures, includingsafety, appearance, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates acommitment to guest service in all aspects of employment. Otherduties as may be assigned. –

Qualifications:

– 3 to 5 years related experience inlarge scale retail operations management. Amusement park, or similar operational experience,preferred. Ability to pass a mandatory or random drug test, per Companypolicy, unless prohibited by federal, state or provincial law. Ability to pass a background check, which may include, but isnot limited to criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, andpersonal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited byfederal, state, or provincial law. Excels in a fast paced changing environment. Understanding of federal, state and local labor laws. Knowledge of related accounting procedures, profit/lossstatements, general ledger, and point of sales systems. Proven leadership skills and experience managing continuousprocess improvement with the ability to think outside the box andchallenge the status quo. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Mustbe able to work a flexible schedule including most weekends andoften holidays. –
