JOB DUTIES

## To understand and observe all of Carroll Concrete Co., Newport Sand & Gravel Co., Inc.s policies and procedures including but not limited to the Employee Handbook, Training Manual, SAFE Policy, Safety Manual and Drug Free Workplace Manual. The Shop Manager reports to the Fleet Manager and works closely with the Parts Manager and Fleet Maintenance Supervisor located at the West Lebanon Shop.##

Key Responsibilities:

##

Scheduling & Maintenance Management:

## 1. Develops, updates, and manages comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules for all fleet vehicles and heavy equipment to reduce downtime and ensure optimal performance.## 2. Coordinates and delegates transportation of vehicles and equipment to designated facilities for DOT inspections (NH State) and required repairs.## 3. Collaborates closely with the Parts & Service Coordinator to diagnose mechanical issues remotely and schedule appropriate repair timelines.## 4. Oversees parts ordering and inventory, ensuring the availability of essential components for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.## 5. Maintains detailed and accurate records of all service activities, repair histories, and inspections for audit and compliance purposes.##

Supervisory Duties & Leadership:

## 1. Leads, supervises, and trains mechanics in the fleet maintenance department, fostering a team-oriented environment.## 2. Manages day-to-day shop workflow, assigns responsibilities, and ensures tasks are prioritized and completed on time.## 3. Leads by example in professionalism, punctuality, and adherence to company policies and safety regulations.## 4. Conducts daily morning meetings to review job schedules, discuss equipment issues, assign tasks, and align the team on daily goals.## 5. Delegates work assignments effectively based on skillsets, workload, and urgency.## 6. Monitors individual and team performance, providing regular feedback, coaching, and corrective action when necessary.## 7. Develops and implements process improvements to enhance shop efficiency, safety, and quality of work.## 8. Documents and escalates unresolved issues, coordinating with the Fleet Manager to ensure prompt resolution and continuous communication.##

Compliance & Safety:

## 1. Ensures that all maintenance activities and operations are fully compliant with DOT, OSHA, and company-specific safety standards and regulations.## 2. Conducts regular safety inspections of tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance and safe working conditions.## 3. Oversees environmental and waste management procedures in accordance with applicable laws and company guidelines.## 4. Provides ongoing safety training, promotes awareness, and enforces a proactive culture of workplace safety among shop personnel.##

Additional Responsibilities:

## 1. Maintains daily communication with the Fleet Manager regarding shop status, personnel issues, scheduling conflicts, and operational recommendations.## 2. Handles sensitive personnel and business information with discretion, maintaining confidentiality at all times.## 3. Assists with budgeting for the maintenance department, including forecasting expenses for parts, tools, labor, and training initiatives.## 4. Inspires and motivates the team, fostering a culture of accountability, respect, and high performance.## 5. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as needed to support the efficient and effective operation of the fleet maintenance department.##

Education:

## HD truck technical training or equivalent industry certification.##
