Job Description
Gourmet Supervisor The Market at Sickles Farm Little Silver, NJ The Gourmet Supervisor, who works under the Product and Catering Director, runs the daily operations of the Gourmet Department including the Dairy and Frozen product selections. This person is responsible for supervising staff, ordering product, monitoring inventory, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Description A Gourmet Supervisor is responsible for the following job duties and responsibilities that include but are not limited to: Perform tasks essential to daily operations such as ordering and inventory, scheduling and payroll, and continuous training and development. Analyze customer needs, questions and handle feedback in a professional manner Provide direct and professional training to Gourmet Associates
- Participate in the daily setup, maintenance, and breakdown of the Gourmet department
- Maintain knowledge of all available products
- Merchandise/arrange/display with the Product and Catering Director the retail space
- Ensure visual appearance in the department
- (i.e.- keeping displays visually attractive, rotated and replenished as needed) Collaborate with Product & Catering Director to craft creative and profitable plans to increase sales, promote items and gain industry exposure
- Commitment to researching current culinary trends and specialty food ingredients
- Ensure strict compliance with all rules and policies, including but not limited to applicable health and safety policies and laws (i.e.- those that relate to cleanliness and sanitation)
- Assist with store events

Skills, and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of safe food handling and safe work habits Aptitude for working independently and within a team dynamic Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices Effective oral, written communication and interpersonal skills Ability to perform basic math Works well in a fast-paced, high pressure, and high-volume environment Possess strong customer service skills Possess proficient communication skills in English (to accurately convey information or ideas) in a manner that is understood Able to proficiently read in
English Required Qualifications and Experience:
2+ years of Supervisor Experience Knowledge of the Specialty Food and Grocery Industry Required education or certifications: High School Diploma or GED ServSafe Food Safety Certification a plus Working Conditions; Job Requirements and Physical Demands / Requirements that relate directly to the essential job duties and functions.
