Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Bodyshop Manager to lead the daily operations of our auto body repair facility, which exclusively services our internal fleet repairs and does not handle external customer work. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a skilled team of technicians, maintaining high standards of repair quality, and optimizing efficiency and profitability within the shop. This role requires strong leadership abilities, a focus on workplace safety, and a proactive approach to streamlining processes to ensure our fleet remains in top condition.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
• Oversee the workflow and production schedules to ensure timely and efficient repairs. Monitor repair quality and ensure all work meets industry standards and customer expectations. Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Ensure proper use of equipment and adherence to standard operating procedures. •
Team Leadership & Development:
Manage, train, and mentor a team of body shop technicians, estimators, and support staff. Conduct performance reviews and implement staff development programs. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and high morale. •
Financial & Business Performance:
Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, revenue, expenses, and profitability. Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality. Identify opportunities for business growth and service improvements. •
Inventory & Supplier Management:
Manage parts inventory, ensuring timely ordering and availability of required components. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors for cost-effective purchasing.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Bodyshop Manager or in a similar leadership role in the automotive repair industry. Strong knowledge of collision repair techniques, estimating software, and insurance claim processes. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in industry-related software and management systems. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations. [Optional] Certifications such as I-CAR, ASE, or OEM training are a plus.
