Job Description

Residential Assistant Site Manager 2.7 2.7 out of 5 stars Buffalo, NY 14203 Assistant Site Managers (ASMs) in our Residential Department work within our group homes and apartment settings. The ASMs work closely with the Site Manager to ensure day-to-day operations are compliant with OPWDD regulations. ASMs provide training and support to the DSPS assigned to their site; ensure consistent and quality services are being provided at all times; and complete various administrative duties. Opportunities for paid management level training is provided to support the ASM in growing professionally. The ASM position is full-time and primarily works second shift, with one weekend shift included. Opportunities are available throughout WNY.

Responsibilities include:

Serving in DSP role as needed. Always ensuring the proper supervision and safety of those residing at the site. Following health and safety guidelines by providing prescribed medications, medical protocols and nutritional requirements. Training and modeling person-centered planning and services to all DSPs. Assisting with scheduling of DSPs, preparation of recreation and meal calendars, and appointment coordination. Ensuring all service documentation in an electronic medical record (EMR) system in accordance with all applicable state and federal rules and regulations. Daily management of personally managed funds, petty cash and inventory of supplies; as well as weekly and monthly audits.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Assists with training and supervising all Direct Support Professionals assigned to the site.

Education and Experience:

Must hold a High School Diploma/GED or higher. Must have at least 6 months full time experience in an OPWDD setting. Must have experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities who have challenging behaviors and/or dual diagnosis in a residential setting.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Must have the ability to self-initiate, organize, and problem solve tasks. Must be able to manage multiple assigned tasks at one time and meet assigned deadlines. Must have basic math, bookkeeping and/or personal finance knowledge. Must have basic computer knowledge and must be comfortable using web-based case note, medication administration, time clock and employee portal systems.

Certifications:

Within 120 days of employment, must become CPR, First Aid, CORE SCIP-R certified, as well as Medication Administration Certified. Valid NYS Driver License with acceptable driving record.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds. Seeing, hearing, walking, sitting, standing, driving, stooping, bending, carrying, stretching, and climbing stairs as well as all movements required by SCIP-R curriculum.
