Housing Works is looking for a motivated and mission-driven Assistant Manager to help lead one of our vibrant, community-focused Thrift Shops. In this role, you’ll support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, mentoring team members, and ensuring every customer has a top-notch experience. What You’ll Do:

Lead by

Example:

Support and empower a team of staff and volunteers, providing hands-on coaching and fostering a positive, inclusive work environment.

Drive Results:

Help set and achieve strategic goals for sales, customer service, and daily operations.

Create Community:

Deliver excellent service to customers and donors while actively promoting Housing Works’ mission and values.

Stay Sharp:

Keep the shop looking great, manage inventory and merchandising, and ensure store standards are consistently met.

Grow Talent:

Assist with recruiting, hiring, and training team members, while identifying and nurturing future leaders. Live the

Represent Housing Works in the local community and participate in at least four advocacy actions per year.

What We’re Looking For:

High School Diploma or GED required At least 2 years of retail management or equivalent team leadership experience Familiarity with second-hand or vintage retail a plus Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A customer-first mindset and a proactive, solutions-oriented attitude Passion for social justice and Housing Works’ mission Housing Works requires employees working in our Health Services division to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless approved for a legal accommodation. Compensation :

$19/hr- $21hr commensurate with experience
