R2Net Inc. is an innovative technology company that provides e-commerce and supply chain platforms to connect the entire span of the diamond industry’s ecosystem, including manufacturers, retailers, and consumers. The Setting Department Team Lead supports the factory by providing daily oversight of their department team members by overseeing the people, process and tools used in the production of our orders. The ideal candidate will ensure timely workflow, high craftsmanship standards, and consistent communication between the setting team, other production departments, and leadership. This hands-on leadership role requires deep understanding of the stone setting process, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain structure, accuracy, and momentum throughout the production cycle.
Responsibilities:
Workflow Management:
Oversee all stone setting jobs due the same day and following day. Monitor delayed and escalated jobs to ensure visibility and timely action. Track and manage all jobs at each bench within the setting team. Prevent unauthorized or unassigned jobs from entering the workflow. Communicate reworks from the QA setting team and ensure they are reintegrated smoothly into the workflow. Maintain a consistent production flow in alignment with the setters’ workflow protocols and priorities. ( see work distribution protocols from Director of Production)
Communication & Coordination:
Attend and report at daily morning and afternoon production meetings.

Attend and report at daily morning and afternoon production meetings. Communicate with leads from Jewelry, Polishing, and QA teams to ensure smooth cross-functional collaboration. Visit benches regularly to confirm job statuses and ensure clarity on timelines and expectations. Addressing all skill gaps and training needs to Manufacturing Excellence Manager.
System Oversight:
Maintain accurate job tracking within the production system. (Fantasy) Ensure flagged and urgent jobs are properly distributed and communicated to all relevant team members. Knowing and understanding the workers profile and their strengths and restrictions.
Problem Solving:
Resolve day-to-day bench-level challenges with creative, critical thinking. Escalate major issues or recurring problems to the Director of Production during meetings. Document and report any remakes, repairs, or reworks requiring immediate attention. Support for
QA & Flow:
After afternoon meetings, assist with QA concerns and ensure the setting team’s output meets internal standards and reworks are addressed accordingly. Contribute to identifying and improving workflow inefficiencies across the department.
General:
Be a spokesperson for the department needs around people, tools, training and procedures Support broader R2Net initiatives and communication Help department team members navigate broader R2Net requirements, such as programs, events, trainings, workday, etc Requirements 3+ years of experience in stone setting and/or leading a setting team in a fine jewelry production environment. Strong knowledge of stone setting techniques and processes across high jewelry and production-level work. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Track record of excellent performance – quality, communication and attendance Familiarity with production tracking software and tools Basic computer skills including comfort with word, email, excel, and slack, and the ability to use them every day and support team members Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Positive can-do attitude Ability to lead by example on the production floor and uphold high standards of quality and accountability. Hourly Pay Rate:
$27-$32. Final pay rate shall be determined and is based on experience and qualifications. At this time, R2NET will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
