Job Description:
SUNY Empire is currently seeking applicants for a Website Experience Manager in the Office of Enrollment Management and Marketing. The Website Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our web presence while ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience for prospective students. This position involves managing content, optimizing performance, reporting on SEO and analytics and collaborating with enrollment management to meet the goals of the enrollment management and marketing strategic plan. The selected incumbent must possess good communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to work independently and as part of a team; and have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Management:
Update and Maintain Content:
Regularly update and edit website content, including text, images, and videos, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
Content Audits:
Conduct content audits to identify outdated, redundant, or duplicate content and implement strategies for improvement.
Content Strategy:
Contribute to the development and implementation of website content strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
SEO Optimization:
Optimize website content for search engines, using relevant keywords and best practices to improve search rankings.
Create and Implement Content Schedules:
Develop and manage content schedules to ensure timely content updates and maintain a consistent flow of information.
CMS Expertise:
Proficiency with
CMS:
Possess a strong understanding of Content Management Systems (CMS) and their functionalities. Experience with Modern Campus preferred but not required.
Template Management:
Maintain and update website, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
Content Maintenance:
Edit website content, including text, images, and videos.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work with
Web Services:
Collaborate with web services to address technical issues, implement changes, and ensure website functionality.
Communicate with
Stakeholders:
Communicate with stakeholders, including enrollment management and marketing, Academic Affairs, and other relevant teams, to align website content and strategy.
Collaborate:
Work with Multimedia Design Manager to produce and implement creative content on the website.
Provide Training:
Train staff on using the CMS and best practices for creating and managing website content.
Website Performance and Analytics:
Monitor Website Traffic:
Monitor website traffic and user behavior using analytics tools to identify areas for improvement.
Troubleshoot Issues:
Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, ensuring a positive user experience.
Monitor SEO:
Monitor SEO keywords and user search behaviors using SEO tools to identify areas of improvement.
Other Responsibilities Include:
Produce Sitemaps:
Create and maintain sitemaps to help users and search engines navigate the website.
Stay Updated:
Keep up to date with the latest web technologies, CMS trends, and best practices.
Provide Assistance:
Serve as second in charge to Senior Director of Strategic Website Experience by representing the Marketing department in their absence.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
A minimum of 2 years prior experience in a role directly related to this position.
Strong understanding of CMS platforms.
Experience in web content management.
Knowledge of SEO and analytics principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Modern Campus Content Management System (CMS).
Special Information:
Some evening and/or weekend engagement with stakeholders may be required.
Occasional travel may be required to fulfill university-wide commitments.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. VISA sponsorship is not available for this position.
