Pay based upon experience, plus benefits as negotiated The mission of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County (HFHGCC) is to partner with working families, sponsors, and communities to build affordable, quality homes and to provide support services that promote successful home purchase and ownership. The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is HFHGCC’s discount home improvement store and donation center, open to the public. The ReStore generates revenue through the sale of donated new and used home improvement supplies and furniture. All proceeds support HFHGCC’s mission. Responsibilities This position is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. The ReStore Manager will maintain overall operations and daily sales of the ReStore, which includes managing all financial aspects of the ReStore, marketing to donors and customers, securing and processing all sellable inventory, and supervision of staff and volunteers. The ReStore manager will also formally represent the ReStore and HFHGCC at various public and community events.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Planning and Organization Work with ReStore Director to develop and maintain annual and monthly operating budget, achieving annual operational and financial goals Track movement of building materials and re-stock retail areas as needed Identify gaps/problems/concerns and bring to the attention of the ReStore Director Managing the day‐to‐day ReStore sales activities, and developing strategies to maximize sales Implementing a pricing plan that ensures the ReStore’s philosophy of providing quality merchandise at discount prices Providing regular reporting to ReStore Director on sales activities and other projects B. Manage Day-to-Day Activities Within the Store. Oversee and manage total operations of ReStore daily activities Implement daily operations procedures related to sales and donations with an emphasis on providing excellent customer service and fostering positive donor relationships Track and record daily and monthly sales. Oversee sales floor to maximize return on investment and proper inventory turnover. Monitor inventory turnover and implementing markdown plans, in-store specials, etc. Maintain smooth flow of people, donations, vehicles and time. Screening potential donations; schedule pick-ups, as needed Ensure adequate training is provided to staff and volunteers. Spend weekly time on the sales floor. Monitoring systems for daily cash transactions and deposits Maintain a safe and comfortable shopping environment Ensuring that all constituents (staff, volunteers, donors, and customers) are left with a favorable impression of the ReStore and of HFHGCC Establish pricing guidelines through competitive shopping and online research D. Staffing and Volunteer Management Lead ReStore staff with an overarching goal of supporting the mission of HFHGCC Train and supervise ReStore volunteers to supplement staffing and support mission Cultivating a positive workplace environment for all staff and volunteers E. Community Engagement Draft brochures and other materials describing the advantages of ReStore contributions. Plan and implement public relations and store events. Market the ReStore through the media in an appropriate and cost-conscious manner. Utilizing social media tools to build ReStore sales Physical Requirements Able to lift up to 50 pounds, perform heavy manual tasks, and be capable of performing outside duties under all weather conditions(e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain, etc.). Able to spend the majority of the day standing or moving about the store Certificates Drivers License required Position Benefits Full time position offers: health allowance; vacation, sick and holiday pay; retirement contribution Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County is a Drug‐Free Workplace.
