Job Summary:
The Shop Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our equipment and materials shop. This position involves coordinating equipment maintenance and repair, tracking inventory and ensuring the availability of necessary tools and supplies for construction projects. The Shop Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe and organized work environment, optimizing shop efficiency, and contributing to the overall success of our construction projects. Detail Responsibilities:
Conduct regular inspections of equipment and tools to identify maintenance needs and address any issues promptly. Oversee the maintenance and repair of construction equipment, vehicles, and tools to ensure safe and efficient operation Perform repairs on construction equipment, vehicles, and tools Coordinate with project managers and field crews to prioritize equipment and tool needs for upcoming projects. Monitor inventory levels of equipment, parts, and supplies, and replenish as needed to support project requirements. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to promote a safe working environment for shop staff. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source parts and materials, negotiate pricing, and maintain relationships. Take deliveries of material and equipment at workshop Inspect fleet vehicles to ensure safety and regulatory compliance Develop and maintain documentation related to equipment maintenance, repairs, and inventory management. Assist in the development and implementation of shop policies, procedures, and best practices to improve efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in equipment maintenance, repair, or related field required. Strong mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of construction equipment and tools. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with shop staff, project managers, and vendors. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in equipment maintenance and repair. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
