As the General Manager at Backyard Storage, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and motivating the Sales Center Associates to not only meet but exceed the annual operating plan at each retail location. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A GENERAL MANAGER
To succeed as a General Manager at Backyard Storage, you will need a robust set of skills to effectively supervise BackYard Storage Locations that support Sales Center Associates. Proficiency in planning and facilitating monthly coaching sessions, conducting side-by-side observations, and implementing a “best in class” sales training program is essential. You will establish and prioritize daily and weekly store visits, manage intricate details, and provide effective coaching while recognizing team accomplishments. Analytical skills are crucial for evaluating sales, labor, inventory, and controllable expenses continuously. You’ll be responsible for coaching Sales Center Managers and Associates to implement corrective actions that drive margin and sales growth. Additionally, conducting business reviews to address performance gaps and ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local requirements will be part of your responsibilities. Your ability to maintain a motivated, positive environment while fostering a customer-focused culture will be key to achieving organizational success. Knowledge and skills required for the position are: Leadership and coaching Experience managing a retail store, preferably in the shed or steel structure industry Ability to travel between the shed lot locations Some flexibility to work remotely Retail sales experience Ability to provide ongoing training to team members Shift Management Online Sales experience
