We’re looking for an enthusiastic, dependable Assistant Manager who is passionate about retail, eager to learn about our products, and ready to support our team in delivering exceptional service.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Manager will support daily store operations, directly report to the General Manager, and serve as the Manager on Duty when the General Manager is not present. This role involves a variety of responsibilities, including customer service, sales, inventory management, ordering POLYWOOD, and maintaining store standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service :

Provide outstanding customer service, assisting shoppers with product selection, answering questions, and ensuring a positive in-store experience.

Sales & Brand Knowledge :

Become well-versed in

POLYWOOD

products and Townsend Mercantile Co.’s unique product offerings to guide customers through the buying process and offer personalized recommendations. Manager on

Duty :

Act as the Manager on Duty during shifts without the General Manager, ensuring all operations run smoothly and addressing any issues that arise.

Inventory Management :

Oversee inventory levels, track product turnover, conduct regular inventory counts, and help with restocking and organizing products.

Order Management :

Assist in ordering POLYWOOD and other products, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with suppliers to meet inventory needs.

Store Maintenance :

Ensure the store remains clean, organized, and welcoming for customers. This includes overseeing daily cleaning routines and performing general upkeep as needed.

Staff Support & Training :

Assist the General Manager with training new staff and fostering a positive work environment, helping to implement store policies, and ensuring adherence to company standards.

Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.

Communication Skills :

Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with customers, team members, and management.

Preferred Experience:

Prior retail or customer service experience in a supervisory or management role. Experience with inventory management and ordering is a plus.
