At SRA, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality, personalized financial support to our clients — and we are looking for someone who wants to grow with us. We are building something special here, and we need a hands-on Bookkeeping Manager who is ready to take ownership, build strong processes, manage client relationships, and eventually lead a team. The Opportunity This is not a maintenance role — it is a builder’s role . You will start as a team of one , owning all aspects of client bookkeeping from day one. As you refine our systems and deliver great client service, you will also help us scale , hiring and mentoring additional bookkeepers as the client base grows. You will be deeply involved in client work, responsible for high-quality day-to-day bookkeeping, while building the foundation for a scalable, efficient, and first-class bookkeeping department.

THE WORK

Hands-On Bookkeeping and Client Management Manage a portfolio of client accounts personally — reconciling ledgers, managing accounts payable/receivable, and maintaining accurate financial records. Prepare monthly financial reports (P&Ls and Balance Sheets) to support client business decisions and tax planning. Partner directly with clients — onboarding them, answering questions, solving problems, and serving as their day-to-day financial contact. Support tax prep activities by organizing and verifying financial data for our CPA team. Ensure all work is timely, accurate, and aligned with client expectations and firm quality standards. Reporting and analysis for bookkeeping department KPIs, goals and results Process & Team Building Create and document efficient, repeatable bookkeeping processes and client workflows. Identify gaps in systems, tools, and reporting — and take the lead in solving them. Implement best practices for monthly closes, reconciliations, client communication, and reporting. As client volume grows, help recruit, onboard, and mentor additional bookkeepers. Maintain a high personal standard of work and leadership by example.

Who You Are Experienced:

Minimum of 5+ years of professional bookkeeping experience, including experience in a CPA firm or supporting multiple clients. Bonus if you have helped build processes or teams before.
