About Us:
Honey Rock Books and Cafe is a new two-story bookstore cafe opening this summer in the heart of Gallatin’s historic square. We’re creating a space where books, culture, and great food come together—warm, welcoming, and full of life. As a family-run business rooted in Christian values, we’re building a space that reflects kindness, integrity, compassion, and community. We aim to offer an atmosphere that feels like home—one that welcomes families, sparks meaningful conversation about literary works, and encourages creativity and connection. The Bookstore Our space features a thoughtfully curated book collection, cozy seating, and a cafe inspired by South Florida culture—serving Cuban coffee, pastries, and international bites. Together, it’s a place where stories are shared—whether on the page or across the table.
Who We’re Looking For:
We’re hiring a Bookstore Manager to help build and run the bookstore side of Honey Rock. This role is ideal for someone who loves books and people, can lead a small team, and knows how to keep things organized, inviting, and aligned with our mission. You’ll manage book inventory, customer service, displays, and events—shaping a space that inspires curiosity, community, and meaningful conversations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all bookstore operations (upstairs and downstairs book areas) Select, organize, and manage inventory of books in a variety of genres Manage book purchasing and returns through wholesalers and distributors Train and lead part-time booksellers and volunteers Coordinate with the cafe team to maintain a unified customer experience Design displays, signage, and seasonal promotions Plan and support events like author visits, book clubs, or family nights Help maintain a peaceful, faith-friendly, family-oriented environment Use Shopify and POS systems for book sales and inventory tracking

Requirements:
3+ years of bookstore or library experience Strong organizational and communication skills Eye for curation—knowing what to stock and how to display it
Tech-savvy:
able to manage Shopify, inventory systems, and basic reporting Self-starter who takes initiative and works well independently Friendly, respectful, and welcoming
Bonus Points:
Experience managing book buying or working with publishers/wholesalers Event planning or public programming experience Bilingual (Spanish/English) Creative marketing or social media skills
