Philanthropy/Fundraising Coordinator (Administrative/Sales Support) Are you a detail-driven administrative professional with a passion for relationship building and organizational excellence? Join Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens as our Philanthropy & Marketing Coordinator and play a key role in advancing meaningful donor and community partnerships. Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens (JZG) is looking for a driven professional who is eager to provide essential administrative and project support to the Chief Marketing and Philanthropy Officer. In this pivotal role, you’ll be more than just a coordinator—you’ll serve as a vital connector, creative planner, and proactive problem solver. As a key player in our efforts, you will enhance donor engagement and bridge our philanthropy and marketing initiatives. Your tasks will include driving impactful fundraising campaigns, organizing exclusive VIP experiences, tracking marketing activities effectively, and nurturing board relationships—all to support JZG’s mission and the exciting

Experience with donor databases like DonorPerfect will give you an edge. Trustworthiness and ethical behavior are essential, as you’ll need to understand the importance of confidentiality and accuracy in all donor communications and records.

What You’ll Do:

As the hub of coordination for the Philanthropy and Marketing Department, you will:
Provide proactive administrative support including calendar management, meeting preparation, board communications, and data entry.
Track and coordinate donor cultivation and stewardship activities using DonorPerfect.
Create behind-the-scenes tour logistics, departmental activity reports, donor correspondence, and meeting notes.
Support strategic marketing tracking, event coordination, and philanthropic initiatives.
Represent the department in cross-functional projects, ensuring timely follow-up and attention to detail.
Work closely with volunteers, donors, board members, and community stakeholders to convey JZG’s impact, conservation goals, and growth initiatives.

What You Bring:

A high school diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years of experience in administrative support, sales coordination, fundraising coordination, or event planning.
A proactive, flexible mindset—ready to jump in where needed, including occasional nights or weekends.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage calendars, meetings, and detailed records.
Experience handling confidential information with discretion and integrity.
Ability to manage competing priorities, stay calm under pressure, and meet deadlines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to consistently speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and communications.
Ability to consistently remain on your feet for prolonged periods of time.
Manual dexterity for standing, reaching, flexibility, and body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling, stoop, bend, lift, kneel, crawl, climb, jump, dig and prolonged standing.
Auditory ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, two-way radio, and face-to-face interactions.
Ability to work outdoors and indoors under all environmental conditions and temperatures.
Ability to transport and move items up to 20 pounds occasionally, without difficulty.
Ability to ascend/ descend ladders, steps, and uneven terrain, while maintaining body equilibrium while performing various jobs.
Ability to access and navigate each department at the organization on foot, including any construction sites.
Visual and auditory acuity appropriate for safety and discern differences in documents.
Exceptional visual acuity is required, along with the ability to communicate, comprehend and decipher/hear information accurately, using a two-way radio.
