Sales Assistant
FASTENER DISTRIBUTION HOLDINGS
(FDH) Ronkonkoma, NY 11779 The Sales Assistant will be responsible for quickly learning and developing a solid understanding of FDH products, sales policies, and internal procedures. This knowledge will be applied to a variety of administrative tasks, including but not limited to data entry, organization and file maintenance, data research, sales report preparation, and communication with customers and vendors—all in support of the company’s objectives. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities) Enter in Sales Orders into company computer system with focus on accuracy Follow up on payments, credit holds where needed and manage excel based reports Enter customer and/or vendor pricing into various databases Assists and maintains relationships with customers (internal/external) and vendors as required Research and provide a variety of verbal and written information up through the organization as required Respond promptly to customer requests and follow-up to ensure completion Communicate with other departments to resolve basic sales administration issues and ensure customer satisfaction Maintain and update files and perform daily filing tasks Create, develop, and maintain customer open order reports Direct Buy requisitions and work with Purchasing to ensure purchase orders are placed and received to support customer orders Perform other duties as required What You Bring (Qualifications & Skills): Previous 1-2 years of administrative work experience in professional office environment High school diploma required Established ability to perform data entry with accuracy and efficiency Demonstrated ability to work well, in a support role, with multi levels of personnel Good verbal and written communication skills, with daily interaction and/or external customers Strong Word/Excel/PPT software skills Knowledge of aviation/aerospace industry a plus Ability to be detailed oriented and perform basic research Ability to multitask and competently complete assignments as required within allotted time frames
Special Requirements:
U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required. ITAR requirement 120.15. Some positions will require current U.S. Citizenship due to contract requirements. This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants will be asked to provide specific documentation to verify U.S. person status under the ITAR and the EAR.
