Job DescriptionThe Sales Engineer position is a part of theVisa Acceptance Solutions (Cybersource) – North America team. Thisesteemed role within the sales organization calls for a uniqueblend of sales ability and technical aptitude.

As a key contributorto the success of the Indirect (Partner) Sales organization, theSales Engineer’s primary responsibilities include conductingtechnical discovery calls, providing proof of value demonstrations,performing technical product deep-dives, showcasing API-baseddemonstrations, creating technical architecture diagrams, authoringtechnical best practices, documenting detailed solutionrequirements, and offering pre-sales support in a partner-facingenvironment. Internally, this role involves interaction withvarious departments such as Indirect Sales & Account Management,Product & Solution Management, Solution Architects, ImplementationSupport, Client Services, and Marketing to communicate marketfeedback and industry trends.

Light to moderate travel is requiredfor attending sales meetings, conferences, partner events, andinternal training sessions.

Essential FunctionsMaintain knowledge ofVisa Acceptance / CyberSource / Authorize.net (VAS) solutions andcollaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Contribute tothe architecture of our partners’ payment ecosystem by positioningVAS solutions to address business and technicalrequirements.

Collaborate with the Indirect Sales team to acquirenew partners and up-sell / cross-sell to existingpartners.

Articulate and demonstrate how VAS solutions fit withinthe partner ecosystem to meet customer needs andrequirements.

Provide ongoing technical expertise and guidancethroughout the sales cycle to drive opportunities toclosure.

Support existing VAS partners as their needs/solutionsevolve.

Actively participate in internal knowledge transfer calls,client-facing discovery calls, and meetings, and document detailednotes of all sessions.

Personalize client-facing presentations basedon prior calls, create necessary architectural diagrams,participate in internal dry-runs for stakeholder buy-in, conductnon-technical and technical proof of value demonstrations asrequired, and create technical validation documents to share withimplementation partners.

Be comfortable running open source codewithin VS Code, pulling code from Github, executing REST APIs inPostman, and demonstrating Webhook events via local or externalWebhook Listeners.

Be extremely detail-oriented, with the need tolog all presentations, documents, activities, notes, emails, andcalls in Microsoft Dynamics CRM and SharePoint in real-time.

Engagewith internal teams including Product Management, ProductDevelopment, Customer Support, and Product Marketing to relaymarket feedback and provide input into the design of newsolutions.

Be responsive and easily reachable via all communicationchannels during business hours (via Chat, Email, Phone, Teamscalls, etc.)Contribute to the completion of RFI/RFP requests asnecessary.

Lead quarterly internal product training sessions forsales and internal teams.

Actively participate as a subject matterexpert in industry conferences, tradeshows, summits, and indirectpartner events.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days inoffice will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

QualificationsBasicQualifications 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degreeor at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree(e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with aPhD Preferred Qualifications 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 ormore years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g.

Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience witha PhD 10+ years of technical pre-sales experience within the paymentindustry. Previous experience working with indirect / alliance / channelpartners is required. Confident speaker with the ability to present, interact, andconnect with executives, engineers, and other technicalcontacts. Natural ability to understand and articulate complex concepts in aclear and concise manner. Ability to architect technical solutions in response to partners’requirements. Must be self-driven, motivated, and eager to learn newtechnologies. Strong desire to improve and expand industry-related knowledge. Strong knowledge of CyberSource / Visa Acceptance solutions. Excellent at internal and external follow-ups and taskmanagement. Excellent verbal and communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent self-investigation, research, and troubleshootingskills. Technical background, including a BS degree in CS, CIS, or arelated discipline. Ability to travel up to 35%.
