Your Day at Lowe’sSalesSpecialists at Lowe’s are very active, moving throughout the storeor garden center, answering phones, and talking to customers. As aSales Specialist, you’ll spend most of your time communicating withcustomers discussing project needs, answering questions, andhelping them accomplish their home improvement goals.
You willbecome the product expert, informing customers of specifications,features, promotions, and financing options to close a sale. Yourexceptional consulting services help ensure that customer needs aremet before leaving the store.
You will be working in one of thefollowing departments, based on hiring needs and skillsets:
Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, FashionPlumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls.
KeyResponsibilitiesProvide SMART customer service by seeking outcustomers to understand their needs, answer questions, andcommunicate the advantages of Lowe’s products and servicesServe asa point of contact for customers and vendors within yourdepartment, providing project estimates, scheduling installervisits, processing and tracking customer orders/installations, andfollowing up to ensure project completion.
If in the Pro Department,focus on external accounts and outside sales and servicesMonitorinventory levels to support sales, working with vendors and otherstores to find merchandise and order replacement stockPerform pricereviews by pricing policies and ensure maintenance of pricing anddocumentationSupport all checkout functions, call buttons,departmental pages, or requests for assistanceTrain associates inthe department by conducting on-the-job training on the Sales floorand coaching around development needsComplete other duties asassignedMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED1 yearexperience in customer-facing sales or 6 months of Lowes retailexperience (Or 3 years of external experience in customer-facingsales or 18 months of Lowes retail experience if educationrequirement is not met)1 year of experience in sales or customerservice in a sales environment with required sales goals ormetricsAble to Read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (additionand subtraction)Able to stand and sit for prolongedperiodsMinimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with orwithout an accommodationObtain sales-related licensure orregistration if required by law in your state (Lowe’s will supportand fund this requirement)Preferred Qualifications1 year ofexperience in completing customer sales orders1 Year Experiencepromoting product related services and plans such as installation,delivery, credit financing, or extended protection plan2 years ofexperience designing customized products for customers using 20/20or Computer-Aided Design SystemProfessional certification relatedto the department being consideredBi-lingual skillsLowe’scommitment to growth and teamwork extends to the community as well.

Travel RequirementsThis role does not require regulartravel; however, this role may need to travel occasionally tomeetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.
WorkingConditionsEnvironmental factors vary by location. You may beworking in both inside and outside weather conditions. Exposure tovarying climates, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid,windy, or drafty conditions, is possible. You may be exposed toconstant or intermittent noises in addition to moving or shakingobjects and equipment.
Lifting methods vary based on role, weight,and volume. Associates must follow guidelines, limiting singlelifts to 75 pounds. Team lifts are used minimally starting at 75pounds or when needed. Powered equipment should be used asrequired, with proper training or assistance from a trainedcoworker.
