Some of these products include cutting fluids, grinding fluids, die cast lubricants, forming fluids, stamping fluids, drawing fluids, forging fluids, cleaners, rust preventatives, heat treat fluids, additives, and many other specialty fluids. Yushiro Manufacturing America, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Technical Service Sales Representative in the Mid/South Alabama region. Some of the duties and responsibilities for this position are:

Position Summary:

We are seeking a technical service and sales representative for the Mid/South Alabama territory. Our Representatives are exposed to many types of manufacturing processes in different types of manufacturing environments. It is the Representative’s responsibility to learn these processes, along with our product line, to ensure mutual success. This position requires managing the territories existing customer base, along with reaching out to new potential customers to expand business. The Representative will be required to take samples at customer facilities, perform onsite analytical test, answer customer questions, recommend/test new products, prospect new customers, and promote additional business. Position will average 80% Service and 20% Sales.

  • Understand existing customer base and build relationships with customer to ensure proper service and support to manage and retain our business.
  • Onsite technical support and condition testing along with sample taking.
  • Onsite lab analysis of our fluids in key accounts.
  • Work toward increased product line knowledge and technical skills in order to provide product recommendations.
  • Effectively interface with the plant, lab and customer service personnel.
  • Work with Senior Account Manager in the region to approach suitable prospects for new business and make joint calls to prospective customers via telephone or personal visits.
  • Provide feedback on product performance based on customer needs and field results.
  • Provide in a timely manner a weekly report as well as a monthly report to Sales management and Sales/Marketing Coordinator detailing calls made and customers visited.
  • Coordinate customer information with sales and marketing personnel to avoid and/or eliminate any problems with customer applications.
  • Attend semi-annual sales meetings.
  • Make presentations to customers, as needed.
  • Submit expense reports detailing customer contact activity in a timely manner.
  • Prepare annual sales budget for territory.
Qualifications:
  • Reside within the Birmingham/Lagrange/Montgomery triangle or close general proximity to Montgomery AL.
  • Strong oral, written, interpersonal and organizational skills are essential for building relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and co-workers.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read, analyze & interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, including sales reports & technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Industrial Sales experience and/or Metalworking fluid knowledge a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must have valid driver’s license & maintain for duration of employment.
Travel:

This position will require day travel and some overnight, depending on city of residence. Position should only average 1-3 overnight stay per month

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university.
  • Industrial sales experience is a plus but not required.
Environment:

This position will be manual dexterity and the ability to work in a factory environment. This position will require walking, reaching, and occasionally lifting, up to 50 pounds. The employee will be regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions in industrial environments.

Compensation:

50-60k per year depending on experience. A company cell phone and car will be provided along with gas and other business-related expenses. A full benefit package, with nominal employee cost sharing, is available on Day #1 of employment and consists of: Medical, Prescription, Dental, & Vision. Company paid benefits include Life Insurance, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability. A matching 401(k) retirement fund is also available. Opportunity for future advancement to Account Manager will include an increase in total compensation through the addition of territory commissions.
