The Spare Parts Quotation Specialist is responsible for supporting customers by providing quotations for replacement parts previously sold through production orders. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, along with the ability and willingness to learn and retain detailed product information in order to become a subject matter expert. In addition to preparing quotes, the position also supports the Quantum Group in administering various after-sales activities. Core duties include but are not limited to the following: Customer point of contact for the quotation of spare parts Responsible for sales order creation and document preparation required to process orders to completion. Assist in maintaining item price list fields in ERP based on company pricing strategies to achieve consistent customer pricing across company divisions. Provide service and support to customer inquiries via email, telephone and in person. Assist production sales team with quotes and costs as required. Collaborate with the Engineering Department to verify drawings, parts, and spare parts lists. Provide reports to management as required (i.e., sales forecasts, sales to date, costs to date, etc.). Liaise with Accounting to ensure invoices are generated and issued accurately and timely. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education/Knowledge:

High school diploma, GED required. Customer service experience required. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains highly preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Must be a problem solver with an appreciation for researching various types of information to find the correct parts and solutions. Highly organized with good time management skills. Excellent communication skills both written and verbally to address customer needs and provide concise but detailed solutions. Detail oriented with the ability to accurately multi-task to meet deadlines and approach problem with analytical solutions. Ability to read and interpret a variety of technical documents, drawings, and schematics to aid in the identification of correct items. Ability to learn and retain large amounts of information regarding products offered for sale to aid in quotation process. Possess the skill to diagnose customer needs from a photo and description of part or issue and translate into a sellable part number via research in system, drawings, and photo database. Proactive, and collaborative attitude with the ability to work well with all levels of Company employees, shipyard customers, vessel customers, vendors, and suppliers. Knowledge of manufacturing related to BOM’s, Manufacturing Orders, and relation to parts processing. Ability to work independently or effectively in a team. TRAVEL This job may occasionally require international travel as well as local travel within driving distance. A valid driver’s license is required.

EXPECTED WORK HOURS

This position requires a 40-hour work week Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
