Full Time Position Schedule:
8am-5:00pm Weekdays. Weekend flexibility is required to meet the needs of the Cruise Ship Schedule and Staff. Overtime and weekend hours required. JOB PURPOSE
The primary function is to increase sales of products/services in the FL-Cruise Market by prospecting onboard vessels and enhancing sales or services to new & existing accounts through technical sales. Maintains relationships as technical liaison for major key account customers. Performs technical analysis and problem solving services. As the customers’ single point of contact, identifies and fulfills sales opportunities. This role is part of our inside sales team and will be developed to perform outside sales as well. Position requires travel to the ports.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
Build relationship with customer’s key decision makers Ship Captain, Staff Captain, Chief Engineer, Chief Junior, Corporate Officer, Purchasing Manager, Ship Manager, Superintendent etc.). Act as liaison and single point of contact with major customers. Source and obtain materials and product (or comparable product) for customers. Visit customers as needed to offer specialized service; such as engineering and product consultation. Utilize independent judgment to identify and fulfill sales opportunities. Evaluate and recommend use of company products to customer. Identify customer business opportunities and threats. Make adjustments to price based on volume, customer and market. Provide sales quotes and offer information to customers (via phone and email); including price, quantity, shipping location and schedules, certifications, product uses, credit terms, etc. Enter quotes and sales orders into Sales system. Follow-up on sales orders to ensure customer satisfaction. Research and resolve discrepancies and problems for customers. Grow company sales by responding to incoming sales leads. Grow company sales by generating leads through outbound sales strategies, building customer relationships and closing sales. Logistics Utilize inventory system to determine availability of product in multiple warehouses. Discuss shipping arrangements with customers and determine method based on customer’s needs and efficiencies. Coordinate shipping of orders with customers and multiple warehouses.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Education/Credentials Degree in technical field, Bachelor’s degree (i.e. engineering, mathematics, sciences, or business) preferred but not required. Will be required to obtain the Transportation Worker Identification Credential, also known as TWIC® as a condition of employment to access the vessels. Company sponsored. Experience Minimum of 2 years of previous inside and outside sales or related experience. Experience in related maritime or fluid power industry, preferred but not required. Knowledge/Competencies Mechanical/Technical aptitude. Mathematical aptitude. Knowledge of vast vendor base in which to procure a wide range of products. Communicate effectively and tactfully with persons outside organization; representing the organization to customers, the public and other external sources. Ability to work independently and resolve practical problems. Ability to manage one’s own time and act independently with the company’s best interest in mind. ; Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task. High accuracy and attention to detail. Must have computer skills in Microsoft office (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook).
