Sales Manager Position Summary:

We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Government Contract Sales Representative to support business development efforts with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) . This role focuses on securing and managing quote requests, facilitating procurement opportunities, and building relationships with key VA stakeholders on behalf of a medical device subcontractor. The ideal candidate understands federal contracting, VA procurement systems, and has experience navigating GSA schedules or FSS contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain relationships with contracting officers, procurement staff, and clinical stakeholders at VA medical centers and VISNs. Monitor procurement portals (e.g., FSS, GSA eBuy, FPDS, SAM.gov) for relevant quote requests and solicitations. Coordinate timely and accurate responses to RFQs, RFIs, and other quote opportunities from the VA. Collaborate with internal teams (pricing, compliance, product, and logistics) to prepare and submit quotes, ensuring all requirements are met. Track and follow up on submitted quotes to maximize award conversion rates. Provide product knowledge and technical specifications for relevant medical devices to contracting officers and clinical decision-makers. Maintain up-to-date documentation and contract files in CRM and compliance systems. Attend industry events, VA expos, or trade shows to promote products and build pipeline opportunities. Report on sales metrics, bid win rates, and pipeline forecasts to the Director of Government Sales.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of sales or government contract experience, preferably with the Department of Veterans Affairs or federal healthcare systems. Familiarity with VA procurement processes, GSA/FSS contracts, or subcontractor dynamics in government contracting. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience writing quotes or responses to government solicitations. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software; experience with procurement platforms is a plus. Detail-oriented with a proactive, self-starter mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the medical device, DME, or healthcare services industry. Working knowledge of compliance requirements for government subcontractors. Existing network within VA acquisition or clinical staff.
